Any word on when we may hear something concrete about this movie??

not yet but since reports still say they are hoping for a spring start which would mean starting within the next 2-4 months we will probably hear something just before filming starts. I guess they could probably have a cast signed and sealed or close to like i said before, then just not revealing it yet and while this is going on gives time for cast and crew to do prep work, costume fittings, and weight/stunt training. There is many times a cast of a film can be kept secret for a long time, hard to do in this day and age but possible.

Let's try to do some detective work, and see which actors who WB might consider has their schedule open for GL :)

Jensen Ackles would be available if filming starts late spring. Since Supernatural usually ends it season in early May.

He would be, but he doesn't exactly fit the Gosling/Affleck type they've gone to.

yea jensen would probably be a great pick love his work in supernatural. Hopefully they find a great pick for the role and i wouldnt be surprise if it turns out being someone of the young list of folks posted in the list above.

Actors linked to Hal Jordan's part in "Green Lantern":

- Ryan Gosling.
- Casey Affleck.
- Josh Duhamel.
- Sam Worthington.
- Emile Hirsch.
- Ryan Phillipe.

Lobo, that WB announcement is supposed to happen this month, right?

Have Duhamel, Worthington, Hirsch, Phillipe, etc... really been linked to Hal? I thought they were all pretty much fan speculation at this point.

Same here, and the only thing I have heard of Hirsch is the fact no one wants him.

I believe so. And hope so.

And another Blue Lantern showed up.

What I am noticing about the Blue Lanterns is that they parallel the religions of the world. First of all, the home world of the Blue Lanterns, Odyn, has a name that sounds similar to the Norse god, Odin. The Blue Lantern of sector 1 has the name Saint Walker and was described to have a face like a fish (which is a symbol of Christianity). Finally the Blue Lantern of sector 2, Warth, has a humanoid body with the head of an elephant. His appearance is not unlike that of the Hindu god, Ganesha.

Makes sense and a nice touch considering hypothetically/on paper religion is about hope.

Blue Lantern's are pretty powerful guys since two of them were able to reignite a star that was dying.

At this rate I will be expecting them to create one that looks like a Shao-Lin monk or a Genie.

i wouldnt be against any of those guys though after hirsch last wb film bombed badly he isnt likely going to be picked. But the others besides affleck/gosling who have already said they are out i would be fine with.

I think the Light Monk from the Corps (what's his name again?) will become a Blue Lantern.

I saw Eli Stone yesterday. Great show. Good actor and solid storyline, as it should be. Thumbs up for Greg Berlanti. :woot:

Don't you think that the guy who plays Jordan, Eli's boss, could be a good Carl Ferris (He's 60s in the Script, right?).

Eli Stone makes no sense and it's good that ABC cancelled that pretentious piece of poppycock....

news out of WB is that DC projects are "on hold", not sure if GL is included in that

I'm not angry at all.....I just didn't like the show and felt it was trying to be "highbrow" just for the sake of it

I think Green Lantern (and Jonah Hex for that matter) are no longer projects. They have directors, scripts, locations and are going to start shooting in the first half of 2009. David Goyer problably refered to movie concepts, like Batman 3 or Superman.

I understand, man. I was making a reference to "Green Lantern #36", where Sinestro says those exact lines to Atrocitus. :woot:

I only saw one episode, but i liked it. The concept is interesting, the cast is solid and i liked the storyline of the episode. :cwink:
