No problem. I only watched to check out Greg Berlanti's habilities, and i liked what i saw. How about my Casting suggestion to Carl Ferris?

Carl Ferris isn't terribly important to me anyway....some random old guy is fine

Eli Stone makes no sense and it's good that ABC cancelled that pretentious piece of poppycock....

news out of WB is that DC projects are "on hold", not sure if GL is included in that

I'd be surprised if it wasn't. It is a DC project.

Actors linked to Hal Jordan's part in "Green Lantern":

- Ryan Gosling.
- Casey Affleck.
- Josh Duhamel.
- Sam Worthington.
- Emile Hirsch.
- Ryan Phillipe.

Lobo, that WB announcement is supposed to happen this month, right?

Besides the top 2 on this list I thought the rest were more or less fan suggestions. Who here thinks that maybe putting together the rest of the cast is what WB is having a harder time with than the GL himself.

No, I actually think casting the right person for GL is harder for Warners -- there's a wealth of actors/actresses who can nail the roles of Carol, Sinestro, Guy and so forth perfectly.

I wouldn't be surprised if Warners picks a guy that no one expects but turns out perfect for the role in the end. Not like the big casting decision of Heath Ledger that surprised a lot of people, but perhaps a case like Brandon Routh. (In terms of look, acting resume, and a virtual unknown.) Warners may already have their lead actor for GL, they just haven't got everything in place to announce it yet -- and I have a feeling it won't be any of the actors suggested in the thread.

Just a gut feeling of mine.

According to a source, Warner might announce who will play Hal Jordan this month. Let's hope! :woot:

Oh, BlackLantern, why so angry?

I'm not angry at all.....I just didn't like the show and felt it was trying to be "highbrow" just for the sake of it

I understand, man. I was making a reference to "Green Lantern #36", where Sinestro says those exact lines to Atrocitus. :woot:

I only saw one episode, but i liked it. The concept is interesting, the cast is solid and i liked the storyline of the episode. :cwink:

^^and now it's been cancelled....sorry

Although the show was critically praised and has a WGA nomination, it wasn't a hit as to why it was canceled. I actually thought it was a good series myself since it had a flair of comic book hero with a side kick in it and it addressed social issues. A true comic book fan would notice that.

Noticing something and liking something are two different things....just because it has those elements doesn't mean I have to like it...

Well since Narnia 3 is out of the running for May (unless some studio picks it up), and Warners could release it May 14 or pit it vs. The A-Team on June 11th.

I still think a mid- or late-July release date would be ideal, even though Thor nabbed the prime spot for 2010 (and The Avengers has the same spot the year after). July 23, 2010 is still a prime summer date.

He'd be damn good, I just prefer him as Hal. The guy was so wasted on Smallville :(

I think he was just a victim of bad character/writing/plotline....you name it....

I borrowed some links a friend at BT posted, figured I could maybe convert people to Ackles for Hal supporters.

There's the dramatic

And, then there's the hilarity and womanizing

Purely from a "can he play Hal" perspective, I agree. I have never seen Supernatural, but I have seen him on Dark Angel, where he played sort of a Han Solo role. I think he would do great. But if they hired him, they would need to surround him with top talents and/or big names (meaning no Alana de la Garza types.)

I haven't seen any episodes of Eli Stone so I may be wrong about this but how is it a super-hero show? I assumed the show was about a delusional lawyer. How does that make him a super-hero? Sidekicks aren't only in super-hero concepts, either.

Shame Casey didnt take the role...anyways, here's my Casey Affleck Green Lantern manip:

come on, don't be a bully Changling :)

I think the suit would look better if the symbol was on his chest and bigger.

No dude. That was my manip and I was commenting on the crappy quality. It doesnt make sense?

Oh haha. Yeah sorry. Hard to tell on the net. Yeah so it looks WAY better on my computer. This looks like s**t on here.
