well many would love to see them as hal and i can see why, though we already know they are to old for what wb is going and with hal being in late 20s in the script we are likely going to end up with a someone like a franco, harnett, duhamel, ackles.

There's rumors that Seth Rogen's Green Hornet may be cancelled (or put off until 2010) and if that's true, the June 25, 2010 release date will be perfect for Warners to make GL a blockbuster tentpole.

yea if that happens it would be a nice prime summer slot for gl is if does actually start filming in the next few months which i really hope it does. As for gosling it was confirmed awhile ago wb offered him the role and he decline it along with casey affleck too. So with them looking at those guys it can kinda give us a feel on who they want for the role.

WB needs to cancel Green Hornet, I like Rogen but someone needs to put that tubby in his place...

i would be interested to see what he was going to bring to the character, though i know many were not happy with what was known. Though i seen him recently at one of those award shows and he looked to be in great shape.

in shape or not, he's still goofy looking....the cover of the 'Knocked Up' dvd displays that

I'd like to see a comedy comic book movie. Like something that really lets you forget that you're watching a superhero film.

And no not The Spirit, that wasn't funny. That was just awful. :(

So maybe Seth wouldn't be so bad? All these other superhero films fit into a level of "action" with sub genres of other stuff. I could actually picture GH with him.

But I agree with you guys that it should be canceled if it would make room for something else. Like a Superman remake, the WW movie (what's going on with that?), etc...

Sony is/was behind Green Hornet, Warners had nothing to do with it.

And I agree -- someone else can play GH, give Rogen a cameo or supporting role but not the leading man. We need someone more photogenic than Rogen.

It's bad when they do it with a serious super-hero franchise. There are many comedy super-hero properties Seth could adapt, Green Hornet is not one of them. The public has never seen a faithful Green Hornet. If Seth's project gets made it will make it that much harder for a serious Green Hornet to see the light of day for generations. Green Lantern would be in same position had Jack Black's movie got made.

I don't think Green Hornet will be a comedy per se. As far as i'm concerned, it will be a action movie with a "comic" feel, and some comedy scenes.

I think it'll be interesting.

yea that is what i was thinking it was likely going to be not a straight out comedy/spoof thing. And whos to say seth couldnt do well with drama if given the chance.

Seth has said there are two options for the movie, a comedy and a serious version. He doesn't know which version they'll use until they start writing the screenplay. Though with Seth in charge the chances of it being a comedy are high.

Well, it turns out, the movie could go either way. Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg actually have two outlines of the script lying around, Rogen recently told MTV News. ”There’s a more comedic version and a less comedic version, and we don't know what will feel right until we're actually writing it.” Sadly, it may be a while before they found out, since the outlines were about to become a script when the writer’s strike arrived.

That in itself is a concern for a Green Hornet adaption.

He might but to be an established serious super-hero at his first try? They'd be better off going with someone like Clive Owen. I haven't seen any reports saying anyone but Seth will be considered playing the lead role if it will be serious, either.

yea i see though who knows whats happening with it now and maybe if it is droped for awhile seth sees to go in a different direction or he hands it off to someone else and all that. But before we get to out of hand lets get back to green lantern.

How did this go from the Green Lantern casting thread, to the Green Hornet casting thread?
