yea its not a delay it was a release date choosen for the film and most agree first unit filming is likely to be starting up between may-july range.

Than maybe he'll work his schedule to do both, though i feel there are many better choices than Bloom.
If the two films shoot at the same time it wouldn't be possible for him to make both, not with the time requirements placed on a lead actor.

With GL delayed for a WINTER 2010 release, Worthington could work.

He can film GL after Clash.
Clash of the Titans starts shooting in April. It'll likely still be shooting when Green Lantern starts filming. The only way he'd be able to do it is if Green Lantern starts principal photography quite a bit later than the May/June start that is currently expected.

I know someone made a post of whose schedule was open for GL filming based on the type of actor they were looking for, can you post it again? :O

You man GL's Light's post?

IMDB doesn't always have fully accurate information on upcoming films, and filming schedules can of course change, but I had a look at the IMDB profiles of some of the actors mentioned here to see who would be available for a spring/summer shoot and who's already signed up for other films.

Available

Jensen Ackles
Josh Duhamel
Ryan Gosling
Jake Gyllenhaal
Chris Pine

Unavailable

Casey Affleck
Orlando Bloom
Chris Evans
Josh Hartnett
Sam Worthington

Am I seeing things or did someone seriously suggest Gerard Butler for Hal? :wow:

That would be it. Thank you. I'm rooting for Duhamel, but I have a gut feeling it will be Gyllenhaal.

Heh, yeah; I couldnt resist a little jibe earlier but seriously, I hope no-one has too harsh a pop at him for it - Don't wanna discourage him from returning or anything.

While he's not my 1st choice, (or 2nd, or even 3rd) I guess I could like Jakes casting.

Certainly a marquee name, anyway.

I've got a feeling that it's either JAKE or someone like him, which might include Ryan Gosling, etc. Meaning, someone who looks more youthful but there's a maturity about them.

Since Worthington maybe busy, I would with Gosling or Phillippe. (which I doubt Phillippe would do this kind of movie)

Gosling was first choice, and he already turned it down, so scratch him off the list.

Hal Jordan - Joshua Jackson
Sinestro - Jeremy Irons
Kyle Rayner - Milo Ventimiglia
Carol Ferris - Jordana Brewster
Kilowog - Dennis Haysbert
John Stewart - Chiwetel Ejiofor
Abin Sur - Doug Jones
Guy Gardner - Sean Willam Scott

I like most of your choices except Joshua Jackson he just don't scream Hal to me. BUT saying that if he were cast I would give him a chance.

That's how I feel about him. I'd be supportive although he's not in my personal top 5

Would Gyllenhaal be willing to do a 3 movies? Which is what the studio will want options for. Also, he might be too expensive to cast.

I wouldn't take it as 100% fact that he turned it down. Internet casting rumors often turn out to be wrong. It wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be Gosling after all.

Oh, and an update on the likely availability of actors is that since it looks like a May/June start for filming that probably rules out Jensen Ackles and Joshua Jackson. Supernatural has been renewed for next season, and Fringe looks sure to be renewed, and they'd likely have to return to work on those shows while Green Lantern was still in production.

I could see Jackson as a contender, as he was a contender for both Superman and Batman. i wouldn't be surprised to see him in a DC movie sooner or later.

I think he would be willing, and that they could get him for a decent price.

He's a good actor but theres something that I don't like him. I think it's his punchable face.

Jake Gyllenhaal would make an awesome Hal Jordan. I'm a big fan of his acting, and would be very happy to see him get cast in the role. The main thing working against him is him taking the lead role in Prince of Persia. So he may be all franchised out when it comes to Green Lantern.
