I believe Green Lantern's 4° draft is radically different than the 1°. It has elements of "Secret Origins", revisions by Geoff Johns, revisions by Martin Campbell, budget cuts and a more serious tone. I think we'll get surprised.
 
I have a friend that thinks Reynolds is more suited to be Kyle instead of Hal. I tend to disagree. Opinions?

That would be sweet!
 
The 'budget cuts' is usually based on streamlining certain scenes too. If one scene takes place in a bar, and the next at a restaurant but it's still the 'same conversation', then they'll just have it take place at the bar to save money. Stuff like that.
 
The thing about Legion is that he ties in with everything pretty well. The 'yellow/fear' weakness and the hint of the ring, along with the origins of The Guardians.

If they bring in Atrocitius, it would have to be like a General Zod like deal where it's a cameo. Otherwise, if Atro takes over for Legion, that's a big rewrite. I wouldn't mind though because he's vicious!
 
Dark Knight, did you ask Johns about the casting of Ryan Reynolds and what his thoughts were? Or did you talk to him before he was cast?
 
Anyone think Kyle MacLachan would make a good Hector Hammond?
 
Yeah, but he's already played a doctor in ST. He could be a very good choice though. I would be fine with it.

Awesome! By the way I don't even know if he says "Riddemark." It just sounds like it.
 
Wasn't he a Doctor in Doom as well? Or was that just his sister?
 
That was his sister. He was the soldier. He was the best thing about that horrible movie.

The Rock becoming evil was laughable. "Stick to the mission!"

Not to mention that forced 1st person scene. Come on! That was just there to put that in. It made no sense. His sister left, woke up and she wasn't there?
 
I bet they changed:

Hal's backstory - Hal's backstory for leaving the Air Force and becoming a private test pilot was changed in the 1° draft. I'd say that Johns might have added a tweaked, yet more faintfull version, in the 4° draft.

Abin Sur's spaceship - It has been comented that the writers used John's version of why Abin Sur was using a spaceship instead of the ring. It actually fits the story and it's better than the original reason they used.

Hector Hammond - This isn't as much a bet as it is a wish. Johns fleshed out Hammond amazingly in the comics, making him a psycothic telephat who feeds of other people's memories and emotions. It'd be something interesting to see in a movie, besides, it'd flesh out Hammond's kinda contreveid character from the 1° draft.

The Emotional Spectrum - The Emotional Spectrum alredy appeared in the 1° Draft, but in a tweaked version. With Geoff's revision, I bet the Spectrum will appear in it's full glory. Maybe even foreshadowing the War of Lights.

Nipticks - I think they might also have changed the 1° draft's nipticky mistakes, live inverting Hal's brothers ages, changing names, merging characters and etc.

I agree with Hal's backstory; they need to point out that Hal joined the air force and got kicked out.

With Hector, I kinda like it how Hector became obsessed with Hal in Geoff's run; he's not so much a bad guy but totally misguided you know? Maybe they need to do that, so there's some sympathy for his character.
 
I'm thinking just from the stuff I read on here and talk at my comic store is the writers are using about 80 / 20 Secret Orgins to Emerald Dawn.

With Abin's ship if they do explain why he was using it instead of the ring, there is a possiblity then we will see Atrocitius in a brief cameo
 
Hammond is interesting because he doesn't hate Jordan. He envies him. He WANTS TO BE Hal.
