Reynolds is in BARCELONA shooting Buried. He started a week ago. This story is a load of gossip crap.

If he cared about the role?

I guess you've never been through a divorce or had marital problems, BL.

Hell, any even if the closest experience you've had to it is a breakup with a girlfriend, you should be able to identify [even just a little] with the turmoil the guy is going through - try multiplying that turmoil a hundredfold; then try and tell me it wouldnt have a detrimental affect your work, even just a little.

I've had bad breakups and seen both my parents go through horrid marriages, and Id never use it as an excuse to not go to work

imago....WB had made arrangements to bring Ryan in from location, make the appearance, and then have him back out there....he cancelled last minute

It is important when you are supposed to be portraying a character that has a good sized fanbase and a project that WB wants to be successful and hopefully turn into a franchise

that's the thing that I don't see with Mr.Braddock's logic (with all due respect). If WARNER BROS said that you have to go, then you go. Think about this: Let's say that Scarlett was as emotional damaged as Ryan...she still showed up at the Iron Man 2 panel.

either way, I say gossip this would be!

either way, WB will get over it if it's real.

It's not like a panel or anything, but more like a surprise visit or whatever.

Black Lantern: You're not speaking out of your mouth.

This explains the whole thing. people.com has the story on their front page of the website.

Plus the imdb link to his movie BURIED says he's been shooting for over a week now. Which means there's no way he could have attended comic con and this whole story is bull. It comes straight from FOX news originally, so I shoulda figured.

Like imago said, he was shooting in Barcelona so there was no way he could have been at the Con. There wouldn't have been much point in Reynolds showing up at Con anyway. What were they going to say? "Oh hey, we came here to show you some unfinished artwork that might have a chance at possibly being in the film. Just a little treat for you guys." Comic book movies that are 2 years away rarely show something good at SDCC, same thing with Thor and Captain America, nothing new that we didn't already know about the films. This was just like that Scarlett vs. Gwyneth rumor, utter BS.

And on a side note, I picked up Secret Origin the other day and recently finished it, and I would really like to see some of that stuff turn up in GL. It was a very interesting read, and it would be very cool to see some of the images from SO make it into the film, such as Hal landing that jet, and a but-load of Green Lanterns fling in front of Hal as he just arrives on Oa. And I hope that his ring talks like it does in the book. That would be pretty cool, too.

I've read the first draft of the script, I've read Secret Origins, and Emerald Dawn. I think the script is closer to Secret Orgins, to be frank, so that's a plus.

The thing I didn't like aabout Emerald Dawn was that Keith Giffen and Co. made Hal Jordan a person who was fearful as well as a one who commited a crime. If the ring were to choose someone, it shouldn't have been a drunk driver. In any other position of responsibility, I don't think that type of person would have been choosen. Also, Sinestro was a person who was very overconfident, and easy to have a mental meltdown. Both of these charcters were better handeled in Geoff John's Secret Origins tale.

i thought it was confirmd from johns that some secret origins stuff has made its way into the more recent rewrites of the script.

Yes, I heard the same. What I was trying to say in my previous post was that I am glad that they are goin with the Secret Origins storyline over Emerald Dawn for the reasons I mentioned.

After watching "Green Lantern: First Flight" (good movie just a bit short and Hal learning his powers quickly seemed too conveinent and the characters seem too underdeveloped, however still a good movie) I can definitely see either Jason Isaacs or Hugo Weaving as Sinestro.

^Good shout.

What about Guy Gardner? I personally thought Reynolds would of been more suited to Gardner than Jordan. Maybe Cooper as Gardner?

John Stewart- Idris Elba

I can only see Bradley Cooper as Guy Gardner, but not as Green Arrow. Michael Fassbender would be WAY better.

I'd say:

Alan Scott - Bruce Greenwood.
Hal Jordan - Ryan Reynolds.
John Stewart - Blair Underwood.
Guy Gardner - Sean William Scott OR Bradley Cooper.
Kyle Rayner - Matt Long.

Anton Yelchin is alredy James "Bucky" Barnes. :word:
