Official Heroes for hire thread

Care to elaborate or are you just being a smartass as usual?
He has no argument, therefore he'll just keep throwing out one-liners.

Ouchies! Such animosity I inspire! Why the ire for me, fellas?

My response was smartass because I figured your claims were made in smartass jest. Sorry if I misunderstood you, but saying that Cap can take Hulk is just asinine.

But they themselves would fall under the SHRA, so in fact, they would be forced to comply with every single government command.

Like I said, think of bounty hunters. Not one and the same.

The only laws they'd truly have to obey would more or less be the act of apprehending the suspect.

Who's throtteling Misty?

Couldn't find an official thread for this so if there is one mod's please merge this one.

Really enjoying it so far, can't wait to see them take on cap next issue. Hopefully they'll keep misty narating as I like the war stories vibe they've created for the book. Hate how black cat's being drawn though, looks almost as bad as claws.

Anyhoo preview pages for issue 2

Some bad news for Palmotti and Gray fans:

Well, at least he'll get a good 6 issues in.

I'm really digging this book. It was a little too wordy in places, but this was an all-introduction issue. My only other complaint is the sloppy way the panels are put together. It makes it hard for me to figure out which of Misty's narration boxes to read first, and it made Humbug look like he could shrink.

In addition to lots of fun action, the writers are good at bringing the oddball humor...

Humbug: You know, I never realized how cool it is to be on the other side of the law. Of course, anything is better than rotting in a jail cell worrying about midnight nuptial visits from questionable characters.
Misty: I'm eating here...

Tarantula: My blades want to puncture your heart and vomit your blood!
Bad Guy #1: Vomit my wha...? HUKKK!
Bad Guy #2: I need help here! This chick is crazy!

Anyone else think Misty looks like a stereotypical raging black girl from the 80's?

I got into reading DoD and enjoyed it so much that I had to check H4H. And I liked the writing and the art. Needless to say, I'll be picking up #2.

I'll miss the writers when they go. Oh well, must move on eh?

Misty was created to capitalize on the black explotation films of the 80s, SouLess. That's why, she looks like that.

I've come to accept Misty as a big-afro'd sassy urban stereotype. Misty, Colleen, Luke, Fist, and Shang were created back in the 1970s. They're all basically cult film archetypes. Shang-Chi and Iron Fist are straight out of a kung-fu movie. Colleen is straight out of a samurai movie, and these days she seems more like an anime character. Luke and Misty are basically a couple of walking blaxplotation films (the difference being that Luke knows it's not the 1970s, anymore). Also, Misty is the f***ing Bionic Woman.

That's part of the reason why I like them all. I never would've picked up the Daughters miniseries if everything I heard about them didn't sound like a silly 70s film.

I so agree with you Manic. That's almost ALL of the fun of their characters.

I agree with Manic too.

But still, can anyone tell me who the chick is with the frickin dragon wings? :p

Misty and Coleen are currently drawn as variations on a wet dream,..... I too agree with Manic.

This book is pretty good.
Though it looks like they're using too much sex appeal to sell it.
