Good Lord this book has been mediocre! Enough of the freaking talking heads already. This is the Avengers. Marvel's all star team. It should be their flagship title. How is it that this book is so bad month after month?

Bendis and Romita, JR. need to go... and fast. Gage would be perfect for the title and there needs to be an A-list modern artist to give it that first-class feel. Gage and McNieven (or Ultimates-era Hitch) would be a dream!

At least Fear Itself will be ending soon and maybe some new blood can be injected into the title.

The event isn't written by Bendis so he churns out mediocre stories that don't matter as a way of almost kicking back and relaxing. Bendis is well known for using the events as a time to take a vacation from writing pertinent stories that affect the event itself.

The main Avengers book should take on a more major role in Fear Itself. We've seen more background stuff with the battle of DC and the raft breakout in b-titles like Avengers Academy and Thunderbolts. In Avengers and New Avengers we have flashbacks taken from an interview perspective. The tie in books for Fear Itself do not essentially tie in very well and it has a negative affect on the main event book. That's why FI felt weak to me.
