Right.....:whatever:
Like the VFX in Van Helsing and The Mummy 2 looked soo great :oldrazz:

To this day i have never seen ILM deliberatly attempt to creat CG humans. And i don't mean stuff like Hulk or quick far away shot of Jack Sparrow and OBI-WAN. I'm talking about real full on close up CG shots of humans a la Neo and the smiths in the Burly Brawl or Doc Ock.

I'll give you the flame effects although i'm not sure that ILM really did use CG flames in the SW movies. I think it was more blue screen shooting of fire elements and them mixing it with CG shots.

I find that their CGI lacks weight and looks bouncy like rubber.

SPI wasn't responsible for the 100 smith figh .
That was the VFX studio that the W.Bros had created .

And it all a matter of preference really.
I'm biased but even so i think the movement and the CG animation of burly brawl looks very good. Not to mention that this is scene is also discussed in a VFX book i bought recently ( deals with all things CG).

And i think that the action in the Spidey movies has it's moments in terms of Cg quality.
I won't mention the first SPidey movie cause the VFX looked very bad. But the first fight with Doc Cock and Spidey was well done IMO.
Second fight not so much ( really obvious facial animation) and the movement was also a bit off.
For the 3rd movie they did make Spidey look more realistic IMO.
But i think that problems there lie more with the fact that things kept changing constantly which in turn affected the way the characters looked in the Battle Royale.

Same reason why the VFX in The Mummy Returns looked atrocious , including a half finished CG shot of The Rock.

i thought it was fun but very obvious scene, what did the book say about it ?

I think the lack of weight worked well in the Battle Royale along with a change of editing from Raimi, the fights with Ock were decent just again the weight thing for me,perhaps they tried to make Spidey comicy with his athletisicsm,i'm not sure

That is some of the worst CGI ever for a big movie,i agree

ILM created the cg humans in episodeIII(dooku,palpatine,obi-wan,anakin,sidious,those wierd robots with the static sticks looked perfect)..which were ***in amazing... and i didnt even notice till i saw behind the scenes... the also created the cg baby in lemony snickets if im not mistaken... which was damn near real.

thats the thing ILM is smart enough to bluescreen fire than to try to create it.

ILM's optimus... looks a whole lot realer than doc ocks tentacles imo..

but w/e..... hopefully this movie wont have an overload of cgi(sm3)

i agree. ILM already created CGI humans.
its jsut that ILM worked with that kind of directors that didnt want to use close ups.

ohhh and by the way i also think that CGI houses sometimes tell directors what they can do. for example i think the reason why we see close ups in spiderman and superman is because sony told raimi and singer that they can do good CGI in close ups.

i also think that ILM is smarter. they knwo tha they can not pull it off. so they say directors how they should film the CGI scenes. of course there will always be directors who dont listen and will do it their way. those are the directors who you reemmber by bad effects.
and here we come to the end.
mummy effectsd are look fake because of the director. he is the one who told tehm what to do.
thats why you will never get bad effects from spielberg.

bay also knows how to use CGI.

sony is not so bad.they make also groundbreaking effects. they are only dumb. and directors should never listen to them.

will the trailer be with Ocean's 13 in the uk too?

good, i was going to see 13 on friday, i hope its there with 13

not sure if its that directors listen to them.. or directors that dont listen to them. either way somethings not right there..lol

should be online thursday night if i had to guess..

Trailer is definately hitting Friday.:hyper:

Cant wait to see the trailer. To throw my 2 cents worth on cgi stuff. I wasn't really impressed with the cgi for the 'burly brawl' just didn't look totally real in some spots. Some of that fight needed to use wire-work,instead of cgi...

but this movie does need or have a burly brawl...lol

I loved the book, I can't wait for the movie. it is a shame they droped the vampires though. It still will be a cool movie.
