You voted for it on the poll though

It's no more overused than Superhero movies and we can't move for them

It's all gonna depend on how they tell the story

Yeah, I know. I voted for it just because of fun.

Yep, but in superhero movies there is always something new (even in SR - kid).

In Underworld, Blade and other movies, I didn't notice anything fresh.

Exactly. And if storytelling is good enough, then I'll like it.

I just think I'm Legend will most likley turn into another movie like Blade or Underworld.

But if it doesn't, then I am seeing it.

Giving a hero a kid isn't knew by any stretch and most aren't knew per se

Underworld and Blade were nothing alike at all except some leather

Hahaha, the word "If" made this a funny post.

Well obviously it's a pretty ****ing big "If", but in the end it all depends on the director and the script. If there's no stupid wise cracks in the script, and the director has the balls to keep it that way, then there won't be any in the movie... like I said though, it's a pretty ****ing big "If".

But being the only human around, he's going to be talking to himself almost the whole time, so...

I don't see what is so special about these pics?
All I saw were a mustang, a dog in the mustang and two other cars.
WTF is going on in them? I can see this stuff outside my window anytime.

It's not the "vampires".
It's the "Being the last human in a deserted metropolis".
I love any "last man on earth" movie! Whooo
A good one I haven't seen in years is "The World, the Flesh, and the Devil" starring Harry Belofonte. He's trapped in a mine....after he digs his way out he finds everyone in the world dead. I won't give you the rest of the story unless you ask.

Yep...even Heston in "The Omega Man" came off with all kinds of jokes and quips....to keep from going nuts.

Exactly,it's about what type of quips he has, they should be somewhat cynical and sarcastic IMO

Mix of I, Robot and Constantine? Nah, don't think it will be so good movie.

Pretty idiotic statement right there, it's like calling Titanic a cross between Aliens and What's Eating Gibert Grape, or Spider-Man a cross between The Army of Darkness and Pleasantville.

Movies do stand on their own and are not just the mash-up between directors and actors previous outings.

I have bought the graphic novel of I Am LEGEND.
And although i know that they are going for a AKIVA GOLDSMITH's version of the Protosevich script , which was very heavy on the action , i can see some elements of the book.

The dog for example.
And still on AICN they've also posted spy pics too. What's interesting their is that they shot at night where they were trying coming really close to a tank.
First of all , Will Character Neville never goes out at night and sure as heck doesnt fight with tanks.

Guess those Vampires are really packing it huh

Ive never read the Protosevich script(I'm lazy) could you tell me what Action sequences were in it please ?

Eh , i haven't either :p hunter. All i know is that the protosevich script put alot of action in the story. And it is true , i mean the book it self is pretty much dialogue really.

All i know about the protosevich script is what i read on the net hunter :
Check out these reviews :

John Neville, as portrayed here, is all at once the soldier who has nothing left but the war, the man living on a desert island, the man who lost everything and doesn't have the courage to die. This is a man floating through his existence, who seems more content to keep the invading hemocyte hordes off his doorstep rather than go hunting and be rid of them once and for all. He has a dog, a nice hoard of technology at his disposal, and enough supplies and intelligence to survive. But the recurring question throughout the whole story remains "why"?

The basic explanation for the hemocytes is that once the virus has found and devoured all malignant cells, they start devouring healthy cells for fuel, and replacing them with more virus cells, which, despite leading to sensitivity to sunlight and hemophilia of the worst kind, also strengthen the body beyond imagination. It also allows the skin and bones to reinforce themselves at will, making them, when at their best, bulletproof. Only massive blood loss, severe heart damage, and sunlight can kill them, and even then, if exposed to more blood, the bodies may even reanimate. Hell, the vamps even feed on each other to get stronger. And Protosevich's script throws every single one of these elements into the mix during the massive fights that occur outside Neville's house. The vamps are ready for war every night with Neville, complete with chanting and demonic drumming. There's fire, bullets, bombs, impalements, houses being ripped apart, bodies being run over. In other words: utter chaos. So, if a director not known for their dramatic strengths takes the film, be confident that the action will at least blow you out of your socks.

Thanks for the snippets matrix_ghost

I like the way they describe the hemocytes, should make for an interesting film and he has a dog, films with Dogs always get an extra star :D

I'm reading the script at the moment. Boy oh boy , does it differ from the book .
The first action scene is probab;y two minutes into the movie already. Sniper attack on Will

Sniper attack ? i don't think they even had weapons in the Omega Man or in the book

It's like the end of the world...millions of people have died.....and if Will cracks wise.....I will laugh my ass off. Will he dare to continue his cliche route?

Richard Matheson's I Am Legend is hands down one of my all time favorite pieces of fiction, ever.

The fact that Will Smith is starring as Neville sort of makes me cringe, but I'm hoping maybe they can do it right.

I hope not.
There is another I AM LEGEND thread where i did made my complaints. I hope to god that smith doesn't do his typical wisecracking humor.
The script and the book itself are very serious in tone and i hope to god that Will holds himself back in the comic relief departement.

It's got francis Lawrence as the director and that guy did impress me alot with constantine , even tough it's nothing compared to the novels which i've read.
As a standalone movie , CONSTANTINE is great . The vfx really complement the movie.
