my theater also showed the new trailer and the audience seemed to have liked it too

Just checked out the trailer. This looks really good.

I'm sure the effects will be improved upon right until the release.

I love dogs too. I often saw my dogs Bud and Ben as real people. But, for ****s sake people the death of Sam in IAL is important part of the story. It's the first time we get too see Robert show emotion and when he looses this he gets broken again.

I do not, DO NOT want too see him turn into a vampire dog. That would take IAL into comic book territory. If he gets attacked by vampire animals and then dies OK. But Sam needs to die for sake of the story. Its bad enough there is no Cortman or Ruth in this and know were talking Vampire dogs? Booo-Urns.

the bad thing about the trailer is that is shows will smith's dog way too much

^ and after reading some spoilers that claim to be correct, it sounds more like a remake of omega man than a faithful adaptation of the novel. and what the hell, graphic novel? pick up the book kids, its not long.

the point of the story is loneliness and isolation... news flash... the dog must die.

I just finished reading the book. Wow. I mean really, wow. I was utterly sucked into Neville's world. It was amazing how much I began to understand Neville's mind and the situation he was forced into.

The way Matheson described the vampires had to be my favorite part. He was so scientific about it. Their reactions to garlic and sunlight, etc. Yet he still managed to maintain the myth of the vampire. I loved that.

It sucks that the movie won't have Cortman or Ruth. That takes a lot away from it. Neville's love/hate relationship with Cortman, and his tragic connection with Ruth were solid character beats. I have no idea why anyone would want to change that.

Not to mention the fact that judging by the trailer, the vampires don't really look like vampires. Matheson's vampires were perfect, once again I don't know why anyone would want to change that.

The ending was fantastic. Orgasmic inducing fantastic:

A coughing chuckle filled his throat. He turned and leaned against the wall while he swallowed the pills. Full circle, he thought while the final lethargy crept into his limbs. Full circle. A new terror born in death, a new superstition entering the unassailable fortress of forever.
I am legend.

!!

If you haven't already, go read the book. Like. right. now. :yay:

The novel is excellent. I read it a couple years ago. I was flipping through the graphic novel, and I just might pick it up.

I couldn't find the book at the library so I read the graphic novel.:o

It's exactly the same i think.

Oh snaps Steve Niles. I'm so getting that.

the best part in the trailer imo was the last scene where the vampire screams in will ear, in the theater the crowd went nuts

To which he replied, "Man, I ain't deaf...goddamn!"

I am an animal lover, especially dogs, so the idea that he is able to cure Sam is a major thumbs-up in my book. I understand changes are not looked well upon, but this is definitely one that has made me happy. When I watched the trailer, and saw the part with him picking up Sam I wanted to cry, because Sam is his only real companion. Sam loves him and is loyal to him no matter what, and the idea that he loses his companion just makes me want to cry. Can you imagine what it would be like losing your best friend and companion and being left completely alone with all these vampires after you? I hope that this change is kept in the movie.

that's kinda the f**king point.

man i wish it was samuel l jackson screamin , lmao

There was a new minute long trailer tonight during Prison Break. It showed a little more of Neville driving the Mustang, hunting deer, him getting caught in the snare trap, and a lot of the vampire dogs. They used the tag line "Only the Strongest Survive" or something to that effect. It was pretty cool.
