Since Sony will be the console company which will have a showing at it, I thought I'd create a thread for it. The show is next week, but heres some info and pics that been released so far

Sony are the only console giant to have an official showing at this years Leipzig Games Conference and with promises of blockbuster announcements and possible new game revelations, what games do we actually know will be on show from the 20th-24th of this month?
The good news first. Heavy Rain will be on show with no curtains to hide the presentation from public eyes, so we’ll get to see much more than the already revealed screenshots and behind the scenes footage.

It’s looking less likely that Eat Sleep Play will reveal their new PS3 game at the conference, since previous evidence looks to suggest an internal development showing. However, there should be a healthy list of titles on show, including the following:
- MotorStorm Pacific Rift
- LittleBigPlanet
- Resistance 2
- Free Realms
- The Agency
- DC Universe Online (announced at E3)
- Infamous
- PlayStation Home
- Killzone 2 (single player and multiplayer hands-on)
- Heavy Rain
Not too shabby, but we certainly hope for more new exclusive game announcements.

Great idea Havok. I actually have been looking forward to this conference more than the neutered E3 we got. Can't wait.

Sony will totally dominate because Nintendo isn't gonna be there and Microsoft may announce there Next Bungie but overall Sony may be the clear winner here

I dont think there really will be a "winner", simply bc Sony will be the only one out of the 3 with a conference there.

As for the event, I expect the next Twisted Metal finally being announced. I think this is a given. Im really hoping to hear about an Uncharted sequel as well.

I think they will probably focus more on Play TV and stuff like Home

Leipzig is really looking cool this year... weird.

160GB PS3 Headed to America!!

August 20, 2008 - At Sony Computer Entertainment's press presentation at the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany, Sony officially announced a new SKU of the PlayStation 3 hardware package. The new 160GB version is currently confirmed for release in Europe and -- as you can see if you scroll to our update below -- North America.

Designed to take advantage of Sony's new media streaming and downloading functionalities, the new SKU will be a 160 GB PS3 package. Other than the increase in hard drive space, no other specs have changed in this pack. The 160 GB PS3 will be priced at 449 Euros, and will come packed with 70 Euros of additional downloadable game content.

UPDATE:
The 160 GB PS3 is coming to North America but not as a standalone. If you want the 160, you'll need to get it as part of a limited edition Uncharted: Drake's Fortune bundle that includes Uncharted, the system, a DualShock 3 controller, and a PlayStation Network Voucher for Pain. The whole kit and caboodle will cost you $499.99.

Is the conference on now dude? Got a link to a blog or anything?

ANOTHER PS3? Jeeeeez.

Man, I just bought a PSP too. Oh well, unless this contains a 2nd analog stick (which it most likely wont) then Im not too bothered
