Comics Official NEW EXILES Discussion Thread

There are actually a couple of hints in the first issue that suggest Blink is the real Blink, like her not throwing up when being transported by the Tallus (Morph says something like "you throw up when you're not used to it" or something like that, suggesting it's not the first time Blink gets transported like that).

I'm loving this Exiles, nothing compared to that New Exiles crap!

As I recall, Blink never had trouble with teleporting because she was a teleporter herself.

I think I will be a little disappointed if this isn't the original Blink. I think it will be, though.

meh.
A version of Forge with balls,... and he's in the Exiles comic.

Ah well,.. increasing the trial to ten issues.

Maybe a new untested team isn't what you want to throw against an island of united X-Men and Brotherhood mutants, all looking to protect Magneto. Then again, maybe it's the perfect solution! And maybe it wouldn't be so bad to stay on this world longer, given what the NEXT one has waiting.

Really starting to miss 1-part adventures.

the art is a bit..cartoony for my tastes..like its Exile Adventures or something

hmmmn.
1. that wouldn't have held T'Challa.
2.Blink could have flipped a shard at one of the other two and sent them somewhere,...

this is not "bad," but:

6 issues to go.

I actually quite like the art.
Lorna looks gud in white.. why do all the artists put her in ridiculously garrish Green/Purple combo outfits. I don't think shes ever had a good costume design.

I love the art style, its wonderful. And so far the stories are great.

Blink almost revealing herself when she is shocked by the talisman. Plus the Talisman responding differently for some reason.
And another mention that Beast may not be as smart in this version.
and that two page layout was really nice.

To get me interested again all they had to do was restart the original idea.

I actually like Exiles again too......I may stop and pick up comics now more then every couple months

So I take it Marvel's just ignoring that Cain Marko is not, in fact, a mutant, just because this is an alt-verse?

i also noticed that. its a shame they cant just go with that explanation in 616. but alas, that ship has sailed.

If they didn't use him in the story though we wouldn't have gotten those really awesome drawings of him.

Answering the question of who on his Exiles roster may die first?

"I'm trying to get away from deaths...I'm not saying characters won't die, but in the last few years at both of the big companies too much has been placed on whether a character dies or not, then it becomes a horse race...it limits your imagination, because you can't think of a big storyline or event without someone dying or be reborn? ...a lot more can happen to characters in a story...so I want to lead people away from who may die in the book, except for Wolverine who will always die when he appears (laughs).”

Heh. You know, Exiles was always a comic I saw death with mixed reactions. The first issue of the original series set a precedent. Any character could go at any time, and it made every storyline really tense and exciting. But with each issue that passed without a death, I grew to love each character more and more, and I hated when each of them got killed off or removed.

I think that's how death in comics is supposed to feel.

I've not read the previous Exiles series, but jumped on board with this one, and am loving it so far.

The first Exiles series was great, right up until the House of M crossover.

ART BY Casey Jones, Karl Kesel
COLORS BY Tony Washington
LETTERS BY Simon Bowland
COVER BY Dave Bullock
PUBLISHER: Marvel Comics
COVER PRICE: $2.99
RELEASE DATE: Wed, July 1st, 2009

The latest team of Exiles find themselves on a much more binary Earth than the last, and the Tallus still isn't being much help. How did Machine Man, Vision and Ultron become the new rulers of America, and what chance do six people have against a nation of Machines?

I'm really liking this new saga of Exiles... Though I'm worried about Polaris because of the latest issue...

We're already at issue 4 and has received a lot of character development. Oh also, am I the only one who think Panther has the personality of Peter Parker, Spider-man?
