Comics Official NEW EXILES Discussion Thread

Not if Claremont writes it out or otherwise forgets about it, which has more or less been going on.

He talks like Morph, acts like Morph, works like Morph, and we've barely seen any hint of Claremont continuing the Proteus plot. So unless Claremont starts dropping hints, far as I'm concerned, Morph's alive and just swell.

Critical HISTORY:
Morph helped the team take down Proteus by impersonating the Maestro and weakening Proteus with a steel strip in his head. Morph went to take down Proteus but Proteus knocked the steel plate out of his head and took over Morph's body. He is currently roaming around the multiverse possessed by Proteus. Proteus was then brainwashed with technology from another reality to believe that he is Morph. Due to the adaptive nature of Morph's body, the presence of Proteus does not burn out his metabolism. Morph's original identity and personality is believed to be dead at this point.

It can't be buried and forgotten for TWO reasons:

Calvin And Blink.

Sure it can. Quite easily. It stops being referenced. Poof, presto-chango, no more having to deal with Proteus. Morph would be Morph and not a single thing more.

I don't care what a stupid synopsis from somewhere says. If Claremont writes it out and doesn't reference it, it's written out unless a later writer decides to be a tool and does something with it.

Simple as that. It's logic that can't really be contested.

So unless Claremont decides to do something about Proteus really being Morph, I don't really care about it, and I'll consider it forgotten. And if Claremont does something with it that results in anything other than the stupid idea of Proteus destroyed and Morph being his normal self, I'll probably drop the title.

I could never just forget that Proteus was really Morph, that story pissed me off too much :csad:

Namora was the coolest Exile ever :(

Actually....

Blink is the coolest Exile ever....everyone else pales in comparison

geez..you'd think I'd love a book with Blink, Morph, Longshot, and Spiderman2099 on it.....but Psylocke and Claremont just kill it for me

It's really not that bad.

But yes, Blink. Mimic. Thunderbird. Nocturne! And maybe even the Exiles version of Magik, who was pretty rocking.

As Roma’s forces are swarmed by the evil Jaspers and his army of Furies, the Exiles struggle to help the gravely injured Captain Britain. A decision to enlist the help of an unlikely ally may be the heroes’ only hope for victory! And the reunion of Longshot and Dazzler goes horribly wrong.
32 PGS./Rated A …$2.99

I really don't care for Exiles any more but I kind of want to read that issue. It has an awesome cover, and I've been waiting for a Longshot/Dazzler reunion.

i wonder what horribly wrong means......one of them dies?

MAybe Dazzler dies... again... we've had this whole Dazzler death thig going on since Uncanny 246 (or was it 247) perhaps it's time Mr C can explain what is that all about.

What intrigues me is the unlikely ally... could it be Satyr-9???

The art was pretty good, actually. Definitely better than Calafiore, and it didn't have any weird face moments like Pelletier last issue. It was actually art of a constant quality, with some delicious breakdowns.

Good issue. I was hoping last issue wouldn't be a fluke, and my hope won out. Yeah, the arc started slow, but whatever. It ended with a series of bangs. Being that the title is rated "A," it's nice to see some "A"-quality stuff and not a bunch of random crap like in Bedard's run. Aside from the random deaths of characters we never really cared about, and the Mimic death scene, what was really "A" about Bedard? Pfft.

I guess this issue leads into the mini/crossover with New Excalibur?

When I post "under the influence" I'm generally meaner to a previous poster... I wasn't drunk then :p And sorry, I just dislike that sort of art, I prefer Pelletier :p

It actually reminds of Pelletier. Besides that, there's a difference between disliking something and it actually being horrible. That art's neutral, largely anatomically correct and pretty straight-forward. There's little to actually dislike, and little to love.

Yeah it's not that bad... I guess I was on a pc with a crappy monitor, because I can see it a lot clearer now...

Adios, Exiles! They’ve left their footprints across the multiverse for a hundred issues, but what threat will make Blink and Co. close up shop for good? It’s not what you expect! And what’s this we hear about an all NEW EXILES…Also! Re-presenting the classic Exiles #1 by Judd Winnick and Mike McKone!

If they aren't rebooting the book, then most of these characters better end up in the 616 world.
