Raimi apparently said that he would like to see the Vulture, Electro, or the Sinister Six.

Ugh! Raimi needs to go sit down somewhere, away from the spidey movies. He's done his fair share, now, lets get new blood, perhaps someone with actual skill and of course a new writer who actually knows spider-man.

A site called FreezeDriedMovies is claiming that a reliable scooper (someone who works on the films) has told them that the plans are for the Lizard and Carnage to be the villains in SM 4. Now, they reported very early on, before the announcement, that Venom would be in SM 3, and the scoop came from the same person. Of course all this has to be taken with a lot of salt. Their Venom scoop may just have been a lucky guess, but it's an interesting notion that may pan out. They're also saying that Black Cat is once again under consideration.

I really hope that Carnage is not in the films, there are other villains that deserve that right.I personally hope that Lizard,Kraven and the Black Cat are in.:woot:

It would be nice to see David Fincher direct the next Spiderman film. He would do a better job than Raimi.

Alfonso Cuaron or David Fincher would be great.

with Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Parker and Winstead as MJW.

I'd actually like to see Zack Snyder (300) take on the spidey flicks.

Peter Jackson as Director, Paul Haggis as writer, Howard Shore composer, and Dylan Baker as the Lizard.

Milo as Spidey, Clarie Danes as MJ

Maybe Andy Serkis could make an appearance. Don't know who he'd play, probably as a random New Yorker.

hell no:down

people complained about sm3 having too many characters now they want to intorduce 6 more? no, plus if they really want to introduce em, leave em for the SIXTH movie

Well then, maybe for the fourth one it can be just Vulture and Electro?

No, the fourth be.ongs to lizard, no matter what, i dont care who the secondary villain is, scorpion, electro kraven, id ont care, but lizard has to be in it

^ I forgot about Lizard. Yeah, he should be in SM4.

Hell yes.
No, no, no.

Especially not in SM4. Think about it. Raimi has killed all his villains except Sandman, and Sandman isn't really a villain. For him to do the Sinister Six in SM4, he would have to either:
A. bring back all his villains PLUS introduce a new one
B. introduce SIX new villains in one movie.

The way I see it, the Sinister Six can done one way, and one way only.

1st Movie - Introduce a villain who's strong enough to lead the Six
2nd, 3rd, 4th Movies - Introduce one villain each who will join the Six
5th Movie - Introduce 2 villains to make an even 6
6th Movie - Get to the good stuff

Of course, with that path, you can't kill your villains, and you can't turn any of them good at the end, but it's the only way I could see it working.

^ I like the casting. Still don't really want to see the character though. I love BC in the comics. But with MJ and Gwen running around, not to mention Betty Brant. There'd be no reason to add BC other than sex appeal. SM4 has enough going for it to not resort to that. Maybe down the line....

For your convenience, I have added a poll to this delightful thread.

I'm not crazy about Raimi's treatment of the original material nor do I particularly like Dunst as Mary Jane (MJ was once a super model in the comics...Dunst didn't look anywhere near "hot" passed the first film), but I think Tobey is perfect as Peter. They seem to have some sort of pact that if one goes they all go, so I guess it's impossible to get my wish of a better director and MJ plus keeping Tobey on board.

If all three leave, there's a good chance that Jake Gyllenhaal will be cast as Peter, seeing as he was in talks to take over for Tobey after the first one. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a shoe-in for MJ, nobody else should even be considered. Which director would I want? I can't say, but keep Tim Story away. Is Kevin Smith a Spidey fan?

Kevin Smith's films are entertaining because of his skills with dialogue as a writer, but his technical skills as a director are very limited. He doesn't have anywhere close to the proficiency needed to make a film as technically complex as Spider-Man.

Even Smith will admit this himself.

Probably.

I guess that was just left over from my hopes that he would make Daredevil, seeing as I think he's got everything about that character down-packed.

Who would you want?

I just want to know why directors of geek movies are the only picks to do other franchise geek movies? Why the **** would Peter Jackson or Alfonso Curan (who just reached a high with the amazing Children of Men) want to do a superhero movie with a 4 in the title? And though Fincher wanted to do a SM movie, I doubt he wants to a sequel to Raimi's trilogy at this point.

Exactly. He wasn't even confident he could make The Green Hornet when he was attached to direct that. Spider-Man is way out of his league.
yes,
but i'd still like to see him attached to the project in someway, obviously not as head director or anything like that, but, as one of the writes, ya sure, maybe some kinda of technical adviser on the set?
