ULTIMATE X-MEN #93
Written by ROBERT KIRKMAN
Pencils & Cover by SALVADOR LARROCA
It’s Robert Kirkman’s final issue of ULTIMATE X-MEN – and he’s going out with a bang! Has the worst happened? Has Apocalypse
triumphed? If so, there is only one force in the universe with the power to end his iron fisted reign. But it is a power of such
magnitude that its slightest misuse could bring about the end of all things!

Wait... Are you telling me that the PHOENIX is getting involved in the Apocalypse arc too? Come on! Apocalypse, Sinister, Onslaught, Stryfe, and now the Phoenix all in one arc?

What in the hell is Kirkman doing? Does he think he can justify his horrid run by cramming as many overhyped characters as possible into one final crap fest?

Hahahahahaha, that's the question I've been asking since he came onboard. Well, the first part. Not so much the second part.

Though, lo and surprise, the word "overhype" has found its way here!

But on another note, that art rocks.

What pisses me off in addition to the cramming of major villains in this one arc is:

- how crappily Kirkman handled Shadowking

- how Sabretooth is being played with regarding his relationship to Wolverine

- how Omega Red is a Spidey villain for no apparent reason

The UXM's villains need to be severely re-done

I haven't bought this in months due to the lack of Rogue time. Splitting the team up was a bad idea.

Kirkman seems to be squeezing in as much **** as possible before he leaves. He rushes through the villains like crazy :down

Let's just be thankful that Kirkman is leaving... hopefully we'll get to see that writer from Heroes do some good work and get this book back in shape.

Hahah when is the Phoenix saga gonna end!? Every other issue Jean turns into the Phoenix.

You guys this is Kirkman's last issue!!!:woot: Oh happy days! Let's hope Larocca's art does some damage control.

ok am I the only one liking Apocalypse's red armor? Also after seeing this I seriously think that Onslaught is nothing more than Xavier in somekind of futuristic body armor.

Xavier is Onslaught, Cable(Wolverine) is Stryfe, and Sinister is Apocolypse....

All these characters, but it's really only 3 people! haha... I do kinda dig the Sinister as Apocolypse thing though, it's interseting (more than the cable/wolverine thing at least)

Anybody have any info about ULTIMATUM?
all iv read is that it'll "shake the ultimate universe to it's foundations!" But thats what they said about The Other, CW, OMD.....:o

So does anyone know if this Ultimate Origin is still gonna happen or was it canceled for Ultimatum?

What is with you people and the uncanny... no, wait! ULTIMATE ability to misspell Larroca's name, even when it's right there in the solicit on the same page as that which you're replying to?

I like Kirkman's run.

He came in and got stuck under tough circumstances. He did his thing and really shook things up -- I like it. :)

I'm glad Onslaught will be a nobody in this universe. +1 Kirkman

I like the apparent direction Apocalypse has taken (if he really is Sinister that is). +1 Kirkman

I like that he brought in Psylocke. +1 Kirkman

And I like Ultimate Cable. +1 Kirkman

Not bad. Can't wait to see what the Heroes guy has cooking.

Tough circumstances? What tough circumstances? Following Brian K. Vaughan's run is comparable to having good storyline threads handed to you on a silver freaking platter.

But let's fix your list.

I'd be more glad if Onslaught had not been rehashed in this universe, not because I dislike Onslaught or think him hammy, but because the Ultimate Universe need not rehash every single thing from the 616. -1 Kirkman

You're fine with the Apocalypse-Sinister possibility. It's actually an interesting take, one of the only present in the run, and even if the execution absolutely sucks, which it probably will, it will nonetheless remain an interesting take.

Psylocke wasn't needed. But on her own, she's not a bad addition. Combined with the rest of the Mongolian Cluster**** and gameplan of "Let's throw every single character that we can think of into the pot and stir, stir, stir!" it's more than was needed. Especially since her supposed main reason for being in was a lie. -1 Kirkman

Ultimate Cable was a decent enough concept - I mean, at its core, there's nothing wrong with it being a futuristic version of Wolverine. It's a little hammy, but whatever. But, with the mish-mash of everything, it falls through because of a lack of focus on it. He's there, he's supposedly Wolverine, ladeeda, he's gone, oh, a glimpse, oh, a glimpse, but no more mentions, blarblahblah. -1 Kirkman

There. That's better.

It's been shoddy storytelling from the beginning. There were no tough circumstances. It's great that you like Kirkman. Really, it is. But acknowledge bad stories and bad storytelling for what it is. I like plenty of writers who throw out bad stories, but I admit that those stories are bad.

Well, when they are.

You always did have a differing opinion than most of us in regards to this title lol
