Hmmm maybe. If i was a serious Colossus fan i'd be pissed that they changed him so radicly. He went from a artistic powerhouse who boinked Shadow cat to a drug using talentless guy who's boinking Northstar. "Not that there's anything wrong with that":oldrazz:

Pissed doesn't even begin to describe it

There is nothing wrong in the bonking Northstar part.

I agree with Neptune, my views on him has changed big time since the first issue of this arc. Luckily, I got to see 616 Colosuss kickin' ass in Uncanny X-men #499.

As far as the Rogue spotlight next issue, I had no idea of that. Gotta say i'm KINDA excited because we haven't seen much of her in a looong time, but I'm missing Iceman too. He hasn't been present in awhile (excluding seeing him fight once in a while)

Here we go again. People ***** when they don't change enough from the 616 universe, then they ***** when they change things anyway. Pick one or the other people. This is the Ultimate Universe, not 616, not everything is supposed to be the same.

^I thought he was talking about Colossus' changing from earlier issues of the book

Nothing Coleite has written has in any way contradicted the way in which Colossus has been used or portrayed in any previous issue of the title.

No October solicit for either Ultimate X-Men or Ultimate Fantastic Four? That doesn't sound too good.

Ultimatum probably puts those books on hold. At least I hope :(

That or, the U-verse really does "end" but really takes a break for a while

was there no solicit for ultimatum 3? if so, i must've overlooked it. i figured it would have featured the x-men since the 1st and 2nd featured the FF and the ultimates.

Hey i don't mind Colossus being gay. I can understand if real Colossus fans do though. I just think him taking the Banshee to use his powers is really out of the blue. He never had any problems while using his powers now all of a sudden he needs a drug.

But that's the twist right there! He HAS been using the drug all along, just we, the readers, and the rest of the team didn't find out about it until just now. It's like he said in the flashback of the first issue of the arc. When he turned to metal, he could barely lift his arms, until the mob boss introduced him to Banshee.

I said it before and I'll say it again Ultimate Colossus is not a likable character. (As a big Colossus fan I have to really try to find something to like about him.) It's got nothing to do with his sexual orientation (although that's not the way I would have liked to see him portrayed). In the beginning he appeared to be a naive, easy going, likable guy considering he was saved from a life of being a mob enforcer. When they started hinting at him possibly being homosexual his personality began to change into someone very hard to get along with. He became more bitter and cynical absolutely nothing like his original counter-part. It would have been better IMO if he was generally the same type of person with the stories unfolding in a different manner (as the rules for storytelling in Ultimate seem to differ greatly from the real M.U.) I think more than any other Ultimate character he is vastly more different than his original counterpart. For instance Spider-man, Wolverine, or even Captain America don't seem that much different just a bit harder edged maybe. Well that's just my humble opinion. By the way, what was he holding at the end of the story when Wolverine cut him open; his heart or a lung?:wow:

Are you talking about Origins?

For October:

Ultimate Origins #5
The Story: It all comes together in this climactic issue as we follow the twisted paths of Bruce Banner and Nick Fury as they approach their destinies. And at last--the Watchers speak! And what they have to say about the uncertain future of the Ultimate Universe is utterly terrifying. You must not miss this one!
Rated T+ …$2.99

In Stores: Oct 15, 2008

Watchers, as in Uatu the almight hairless one? Cool.

Did anyone else think that this weeks issue bounced around too much?

And now that its been established that Logan is the source of Banshee (seriously, he couldnt have asked Hank to have a look?), where does Banshee himself fit in? It'd suck if the Ultimate version fo the character is reduced merely to the name of a drug. Maybe he's the main dealer as a spin on his 'former villain turned x-man' status of his first appearances in the 616 (even though he wasnt actually a villain but rather a coerced former interpol agent)

I was outraged by the last page of the issue. In BKV's run, Wolvie couldn't penetrate Petey's armored hide (let alone even cut him) but now he guts him like a feckin' pig. BS! Even if his claws could all of a sudden cut Petey, Wolvie wouldn't be able to generate enough force/pressure to slice him open like that. At best, he'd be only able to scratch him on the surface. Bah!

And I also couldn't tell at first what Petey was holding but it looked like a steel-like heart. The lungs are much larger than a heart.

I just hope Jean can work a miracle and save him.

I also agree that the Ultimate version of Colossus is somewhat difficult to appreciate and/or like. I really liked Millar's bad a$$ version of Petey but after that it was all down hill. Just feckin' end the Ultimate U...it's a freakin' disaster.

Colossus has been using Banshee for so long, maybe that's a secondary effect of it.

I loved last issue but I really want to know where Jean goes when she flips out, just like she did with her father in this issue. Is it just an hallucination or maybe the Ultimate White Hot Room or something like that?
