Beast will forever be on my **** list for ultimately causing the release of Magneto from the happy life Xavier had built for him.

There is a small and very fast fight with Phoenix Vs Prof X... That's all there really was for good action even if it was only a page or two long. Wolverine is going to get cloned, maybe this'll be the Ultimate X-23 which wuld be cool. Oh and the Hellfire Club are set to rebuild it's self now that we know that Jean is the Phoenix.

I already hate Magician and I'm not looking forward to the next tpb. I'll get Ultimate Cable tpb and Magician at the same time.

I just want to protest bringing Beast back. I think dead should mean DEAD. Period. I think when we go back to reviving our favorite characters just because we like them we've totally lost the strength of the Ultimate universe. I MAY read Ultimate X-Men again if Beasts return is something origional (cloning cannot be involved, "I survived and I've been living on a desert island with the scientist who revived me" cannot be used)

But with Ultimate Spider-Man getting convoluted, Fantastic Four not knowing how to do anything beyond high fantasy in a 'realistic' universe, and Ultimates perennially delayed... it's just a sad time to be an Ultimate Universe fan...

Okies I have the magician, but couldn't get hold of phoenix, but on wiki it mentioned cable and bishop, so I thought I'd missed something important...

So what's the general consensus on this book these days? Is it going downhill? Is it getting better? Has it been good all the way through or poor or mediocre?

These days it's mediocre. The Cable arc is a step up from Date Night which was plain bad.

The return of Beast is going to be awesome or just plain F***ed. Thinking of who could bring him back, I think Apocalypse could do it...but who knows. I think its definately been on the downhill everysince What-his-butt got on board.

Did the whole sexless Jott thing came out of the blue or did the writer remind the reader every two issues????

And yes, I still have issues to catch up on. It's just that it seems every other x-titles is better and am going over those first.

Well, unless I'm mistaken, Date Night (issues 66-68) was the first time they'd quote 'take their relationship to the next level'.

But think of all those storys they'd be throwing away if he was just a voice in one man's head. If he could some how go from one man's mind to another that could be ok, for awhile. They should bring Lips into the Ultimate Universe with a really big Ultimate Marvel event, a well writen Civil War for Ultimate Universe.

I don't see it as "throwing away" the Apoc stories at all. Think of the new kick-ass epic villain some writer could come up with if he actually tried and stopped rehashing 616 history.

Actually, the PF (arguably Jean on some level) sort of aknowledged that Scott chose Emma.
