It was posted the other day in the Ultimate Spider-man thread... do we need to go threw the whole thing again?

Not sure if I get the point of Ultimate Origin.

It's to, once again, put Wolverine in the spotlight.

Cause, ya' know, he's the only character that matters. At least in the regular universe I can avoid him (well, most of the time anyway). In Ultimate X-Men he's EVERYWHERE.

Come on give someone else the spot lot, i think wolverine has had it way too long....

Really? seriously? and ultimate: origin? WHY! Why! Why! hasn't this fidget's popularity begun to wane????

No other character has an origin as boring and invariable as Wolverine's...
Does Marvel think everyone will be thrilled to read about his ordeal in Weapon X and numerous encounters with his always big-and-grumpy archenemies in Ult as well? :whatever:

I've liked him as part of the X-Men, but individually he does nothing for me.
I don't really see his appeal, but I'm a teacher and a parent and what I notice about kids (particularly teen-agers) today is that they don't necessarily like the "Guy in the White Hat". That's why they emmulate guys like Scarface or 50 cent. Villians are often more popular. They seem to find the true heroic ideal unappealing. That's why heroes like Colossus, Nighcrawler, The Fantastic Four, Green Lantern, Flash, Captain Marvel (SHAZAM), or even Captain America or Superman aren't really percieved as "COOL". Though there are exceptions the younger audience for the most part doesn't like the guys that do the right thing simply because it's the right thing.

It's just like people say teenage girls find 'bad boys' more appealing, most of them will grow out of their fantasy when they are older.

Then I'm glad he's not my fav, just think about how much money and time I have saved from not reading his solos and mini series.

^ you guys do realise that ultimate origin is not just about wolverine? its about all the major players. nick fury, magneto, fantastic four, spider-man etc etc.

That's what I was going to ask.

I was under the impression it was about the origin of the ULTIMATE universe, not the origin of any specific character.

^ its exactly that, the origin of the ult. univerese.

people seem to think its gonna be andother wolverine: origin but for his ultimate counterpart.

Yeah I believe they have then Intention to make it world spread Origin for the universe but I bet wolverine will be a part of everyone one lol.

I hate saying it, but this is exactly right.. I mean, I have friends that I've discussed this with. Even seeing things recently about Cyclops getting a bigger spot in things after the big event, they get upset because "he's a stuck up bastard, they should just let wolverine do it.. he's so much cooler..." they can't say why, or what it is that makes him cooler. But It's really just because he has no problem being an anti-hero that people seem to like him.
