Just Quietly, when did the Ultimates engage in Time Travel? I know the ultimate FF did, but, the Ultimates? that doesnt seem very Ultimatey.

Wait, till next year. Their going to get more Cosmic. Anyone that read comics for a while, Knows that they would have done this down the line.

That sounds exactly like bishops back story.

He'll probably come from a tragic future where mutants become the dominant species - but still were at war with each other for supremacy.

I don't know, I really, really hope Kirkman does something differant with the character, (as Cable is one of those characters that is ripe for reinvention) but, judging by the visuals and what we know, he doesnt sound too different from the 616 version.

Between the cover art and the interview I am now quite jazzed about this upcoming arc. Sounds great!

And Kirkman seems like a real levelheaded guy. Even going so far as to say he doesn't want time travel to be a big deal or suck.

Hi, I'm kind of new here and posted once or twice before. I thought you guys would like to see what Kirkman, had posted on another board I belong to. He talks a little bit about Ultimate Cable.

Kirkman:
Hey, everybody. I just wanted to pop in here and put an end to a few assumptions.

First off, everything I do on X-Men will be an effort to make things more different from the 616, even it it doesn't immediately SEEM that way. I agree with you all that they should be as different as possible.

Also. Cable will not be Scott's son, or related to him in any way. In fact, I'll tell you right now, that Cable is not ANYONE'S brother, son, mother, father, uncle or any other relation. He's going to be different.

As far as his LOOK goes, yeah, it's a little similar to the 616, face aside... but Cable is HARD to change unless you make him a teenager and I DIDN'T want to do that (for one, that was DONE in the 616--X-Man). He's worn 10,000 different costumes, sometimes in the SAME issue, and sometimes on the same PAGE. So unless you make him completely different. He's going to be kinda similar. You don't complain about Cyclops having a VISOR do you? Or Rogue's white streak of hair or Wolverine's CLAWS.

Same thing.

Besides, I think the ORIGINAL Cable, Rob's Cable from New Mutants and X-Force looked DAMN cool... and so I wanted Ultimate Cable to reflect that.

Character-wise... he's totally different, as you'll see in the issue.

So, give it a shot, it's a cool issue and a cool arc and it leads to HUGE shake-ups in the book (which I think the book needs).

And future stuff... yeah, Cable is from the future... sorry about that. I think it's cool. I don't think it'll ruin the book. I don't see why it's okay for Ultimate FF or Ultimates but shouldn't be in this book. Maybe Spider-Man... but I think X-Men has a LONG history with time-travel. And y'know, I'm trying to make it not suck.

Besides, it's not like time travel is going to be a HUGE part of the book. It's just going to be mentioned here and there in relation to Cable. The X-Men do not go to the future or anything.

Does anyone else think that Nightcrawler has been, um, taking advantage of Dazzler in her unconcious state? I mean the upcoming Ultimate Annual is going to focus on Nightcrawler, and given his recent appearances at Ali's bedside I have to wonder if he hasn't gone a little off the deep end. He made a comment about her being his only friend left on the team. He's shaken up by Warren leaving and Colossus coming out... I'd hate to think Nightcrawler could do something like that, but it would be a very bold move for Kirkman to make.

The issue starts with Xavier talking to Syndicate about doing a good job that his account is now unfrozen and asking how they're sister is doing. Than he gets an incoming call from Kitty's mom trying to get some info on Kitty's new boyfriend (Spidey), apparently Kitty hasent told her mom anything about him. Prof. X tells her not to worry that he has met her bf and that hes' a good kid and that he'll keep an eye on Kitty. Kurt is visiting Ali in the hospital when she slowly wakes up and asks Kurt where is everyone. Cut to the X-Men fighting the friends of humanity and kicking they're asses, until the Leader starts to hulk-up. Blameing the X-men for him being a mutant he starts attacking until he is taken down single handed by the Magician (im really starting to hate this character). We now go back to Xavier catching Kurt as he was walking by the Prof's office, Xavier asks if everything is ok. Kurt says hes' dealing with personal stuff right now and wants to be left alone. Fury shows up telling Xavier that hes' here to recruit the Magician into the Ultimates, Xavier says then why did you bring him here when you had him in custody instead of bring him right to triskilion? Fury looks over at Xavier with a confused look and says what are you talking about, Iv never heard of this kid until he started to see him with the X-men.

Good issue, cant wait to read the next.

I read the iss last night and am writing this from memory so sorry if I left anything out.

I got it yesterday and just read it really, some good action sceans like art wise looks cool, i feel sorry for Jean buts it's kind of funny that everyone thinks shes crazy in a way. Cover is really good.

She is kind of crazy though... she was telling her mental demons to turn off the lights or shut the door or something like that.

I hope they wrap that one up soon... she's more interesting when she's around!

OK are they trying to hold off Dark Phoneix until issue 100 or are they planning something else I wonder????

I just don't want her to die.....again she deserves to live!

Me to, i hope they really think hard on what to do, i mean like where they going with the whole myth thing and like Phoenix will come before her next birthday or something , i just don't want the same 'death' ending like in every other one, maybe she goes Dark, but she doesn't have to die some how. I just hope it is good and 'differnt'.

Well I am happy with a Dark Phoenix story, but I agree, I dont want her to die, I love Jean and Storm and want them to stay on the ultimate team!!... When is issue #100 due... Christmas 2009!?
