the picture doesnt look complete. Emma seems to be missing part of her arm/cape. I really hope thats not the final cover that Marvel is going to release

Where to begin?

1. I think Emma's arm is supposed to be partially obscured by her cape, but that's a ridiculously lazy way to render her cape.

2. You're right; he did forget Psylocke's legs. You can even see the bottom of her suit where the legs should be coming out.

3. Why is Betsy holding two psychic knives?

4. As far as I know, Betsy still doesn't use her psychic knife anymore.


Greg Land is very quickly turning into the new Rob Liefeld. The sad truth? Land's earlier work was nowhere near this bad.

Psylocke does still have her psychic knife. She used it in the Sisterhood arc on Wolverine and Dazzler. She doesnt use 2 very often, but she has done it before in the past

Im not sure why Emma and Psylocke are even on the cover. It looks so obvious that they were photoshopped in. The shot of the 3 men or even just Magneto would have been good enogh

Does that count? She was in her original body when she used the psychic knives. I assumed she was still stuck with vague semi-telepathy in Kwannon's body.

You are right in that it was the British body. This defiently is an inconsistency then bc all of Fraction's fraptions have labeled her as a pschic or telepath, however based on his writing, she is a very low level TP and can only alter perceptions, so she shouldnt have enough power to yield a psychic knife. But this is a cover and they arent always representative of whats inside, so I dont think Fraption will have her using one. She's been showing up on other covers (such as the recent Exodus) as well with a psy-knife but hasnt used one in a book post- return to Asian body. I dont think we'll get a clear definition on her powers until her mini series drops but that will be written by Yost and based on what Ive read from him, he seems to have a different view on her than Fraction, her ongoing writer, does

I also noticed that Emma's not stuck in her diamond form on the cover. So I guess we can chalk up that cover to Land just drawing the characters' powers however he wants.

That I blame on the colorist. Its really up to them to color her the right form, unless something happens to her between now and this issue

I don't know how Greg Land does it, but most pencilers seem to draw diamond-Emma differently from flesh-Emma. It's like when people draw Iceman and Colossus. The colorist doesn't do it all.

well its not just him bc many artists simply draw her the same. Most cant even seem to do a good diamond Emma Ultimately though, I think its up to teh colorist to portray her diamond form and the editors at Marvel to ensure that. Its minor btu Im not surprised by this error bc they havent been picking up on alot of coloring issues lately

Perhaps this cover might get replaced/corrected later just as the initial Uncanny #515 with Beast leaving was.

well it looks like the image was photoshopped in. He did the characters seperately and someone superimposed them onto each other

so is he gonna actually stick around and be an active member of the X? that'd be interesting...though i'd prefer if they treated him like the carebear cousins or the new thundercats....kept off screen until needed in a big epic battle
