the first story i ever read was Holy War and i liked it alot (maybe me being catholic had something to do with it). thats when i started collecting.

I loved that arc. The opening shot of the crucified X-Characters (Bedlam, Skin, Jubilee, Magma, etc.) just got to me, and then everyone's reactions and confusion to follow. That was the first time I think I ever really noticed Scott losing his cool. "GET THEM DOWN!!" It blew me away.

And then the scripture quoting battle between Nightcrawler and the leader of the Church of Humanity. As a christian, I really appreciated that. I'm not Catholic, but that was the best I'd seen Nightcrawler in a long time.

And I'm wierd I guess, but I actually really liked the Draco. And She Lies With Angels was phenominal.

Holy War was right around when I started reading comics. I think the first one I bought was Endangered Species Pt2 with Husk and Angel on the cover.

It wouldn't matter, cause we all know at some point, they'll rebuild the mansion and be back in New York. It might not be next issue or even 30 issues later, but some day some writer is going to take them back to Westminster.

It would be funny if X-Men started living in the home of British Politics :funny:

Except I think Charles sold his property and something else is being built there now. I think only the graveyard remains.

Considering Emplate went on a killing spree on the construction site looking for the X-Men I imagine old X-villains keep turning up looking for the X-Men at Westchester and killing who ever they find there is gonna mean not alots gonna be built on the site.

Why would Xavier sell the property considering the subbasements and Danger Room, they have there? He thinks people wouldnt find that?

I know right. What if someone finds his morlock porn stash :wow::woot:

I always preferred the mansion layout where the Blackbird took off from the side of the clifff a couple miles away from the mansion proper. The whole vertical take off from the basketball court was just "Duh, course the bad guys found you - your tarmac separates and a friggin' jet pops up in front of the house!". Course, the big giant X shaped house was also a bit of a thickie move

I liked Endangered Species but it felt a little dragged out. And the art killed me. The Dragonball Z guy shouldn't draw mainstream X-Men. It's just wierd.

yea Austen had it bad for Nightcrawler (but probably not as bad as Carey and Rogue). i also loved the scene where Scott ripped him a new one for not being a proper leader. i liked Jays story too, but i hated The Draco.

I actually didn't like the stuff about Nightcrawler not being a propper leader because I felt he did fine over in Excalibur, but suddenly sucked here. It just didn't fit for me.

He did wonders with Warren as I loved seeing him as leader

Nightcrawler: He can lead Excalibur through Captain Britain's alcoholism, but he can't lead the X-Men through Cyclops' dickishness.

Like I said before... I liked a lot of Austen's run, but there were parts I really didn't like either... that was one of them. I liked Angel and Hulk on the team (and Angel's role) but I didn't like them together... and I didn't like Angel's healing blood. And I loved Abyss being revealed as Nightcrawler's brother, but his not sticking around sucked. He handled Exodus way too crapily too.

And I'll tell you this... though a lot of people didn't like it, I was real curious about the whole Angels/Demons story that he was playing toward but never got to.

#522 varient:

Brook's art looks ALOT better than what we get with Dodosn and Land

hmm, I think Nightcrawler will die. Just Guessing.

So what'd y'all think? Who will make Mags evil? How fast?

I'm still thinking that it might be Cable or Cyclops that winds up dying in this one. The way this is coming across, it seems like it's not just someone who popped into the background for a bit. It looks like they're reaching to someone right in the forefront to make a point.

Of anyone it could be, I'm still thinking it's one of those two.

I think Cable is a given. Cyclops would definetly have the biggest impact but Im not so sure Marvel or Fraction would have the balls to off him

That #522 variant cover makes me think "Professor Strange X (Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Giant Space Bullet"
