Yes, let's put Cyclops' ex-wife in the body of a 13 year old girl. That won't be awkward at all.

Hope can be an avatar of the Phoenix Force all she wants, though. Jean wasn't the first, and I'm sure she won't be the last.

I love that so far the flow and pacing with Second Coming has been perfect. The role that each book has played so far has felt right and not forced. Theres a natural progression. So far we have:

Chapter 1 - brought Hope/Cable back to present day 616. Bastion and his crew are alarmed of this and plot to go after them. Cyclops also finds out and he laid out his plans and started distributing assignments to the various teams/characters. We got set up with Nightcrawler starting to questioning him and there was the X-force reveal.

Chapter 2 - Hope briefly gets a few moments of peace and normalcy with Cable after running her entire life, only to have Bastion's gang find her. They are reunited with the X-men as a battle begins. Nightcrawler gets to telepathically confront Cyclops about X-force but bc of the current predicament, he doesnt have time to go into details with him. The NMs are given their mission which leads into....

Chapter 3 - The New Mutants enter the story and take centerstage. They are sent elsewhere to take out a weapons depot. Karma gets her legs impaled. The X-men discover that Warren can turn back into Archangel. Illyana is taken out as the setup for Hellbound is created. The setup for Rogue's adventure in Legacy is also set forth here.

Thats a lot of stuff, action and storywise and we are only 3 issues in. Overall good stuff so far

I hope Psylocke was reacting to Warren murdering people and not the fact that he can transform back into Death. She saw that during the X-Club's steampunk adventure in time.

- she doesn't look 13, look at Pixie for example :ninja: /Hanson

- Scott doesn't have to sex her up, he's got Emma

- Cable was de-aged back to a baby and he's fine now

-Pixie is 18

-There'd be weird tension between Scott and Jean, and you know it.

-Yeah, but he didn't interact with his wife Jenskot while he was a baby.

They can speed-age her. It's happened before. :)

Hope is 17. She's drawn inconsistently, but its been established that she is in fact 17

He also appeared as Death in Secret Invasion but alot of Xmen dont seem to remember that

I think Pixie is the only one who noticed Warren as Death during Secret Invasion when she asked who the new guy was. Frankly, I wouldn't put it past Scott to order the Stepfords to make Pixie forget.

Also, Finch & Dodson draw Hope really young. I wouldn't have put her past 15 in their issues. 17 is a shock.

she was drawn closer to her real age on the covers to Cable. She looks at least 17 here if not older

She looks so much like Jean that it will be ridiculous if they're not somehow related. Not to mention all the heavy thumpings on Phoenix hints.

i love that picture of Hope but she looks much older than 17 i think. here she looks like mid to late 20s.

i think issue 512 was the ONLY interaction Betsy and Warren have had ever since Claremont brought her back from the dead 6 years ago. im still waiting for Warren's reaction to that!

I think one thing that Marvel often misses out on is personal reactions to people coming back. At least Pete had a good reception when he came back.

they were both on panel in Generation M, but unfortunately, they didnt say a word to each other. I cant beleive they didnt touch on him being reunited with her for the first time following her resurrection. BIG miss on Marvel's part. Its almost like them bringing Jean back in the 80s and waiting 3-4 years before she and Scott talk on panel, despite living in the same house and fighting with the same team. Or right now with Colossus and Kitty

Kitty can't talk for some reason, right?

yep but any telepath like Xavier or Emma should be able to verbalize what she wants to get across, unless they now say she's aquired an immuniy to it. If thats the case, Kitty better start learning sign language

Kitty has always been slightly resistant to telepathy. I wouldn't be surprised if being stuck in her phased state made it harder for Charles or Emma to get in there.

By the way, I'm surprised not one of us has questioned Kitty's ability to walk on the ground without falling through.

maybe shes weightless, but still has enough mass to stay level like oxygen or something.:huh:

Maybe Warren just doesn't care. He's got the looks, he's got the money, and he was getting plenty of ***** while Psylocke was off being dead.

And yes, some of that ***** was Husk. I know. Let you all eye-roll in tandem.

There was more. Off-panel. That's how Warren rolls.

Some July cover images up on Newsarama. Knocks three of the characters on the "one must die" cover off the list. Makes me worried for one of the ones left
