OFFICIAL Wolverine and The X-men Gallery Thread

I never thought Jean was a boring useless character outside of the Phoenix. I actually like her better without the Phoenix.

New website about Wolverine and the X-Men in Spanish with new pics.

Wow, Rogue looks amazing, better than the rest of the x-girls, hehe.

I suppose is just me, but seeing group pics from this show, I always have the feeling that someone is missing.

yes, I know sometimes, one x-man isn't in the pic, but I'm meaning other thing, it's like something is missing.

Am I the only person who thinks this cartoon is a little poorly animated?! The voices are a mixed bag (Wolvie and Mags are awesome, Charlie X sounds horrid) and more Rogue ambiguity? No thanks.

I look forward to a new X show, but it looks and feels more like the final season of XTAS than an exciting new saga :/

Is Rogue supposed to be like a double agent or what?

She might be for some of the first season, but the fact they are putting her with the X-Men not the Brotherhood tells me she will clearly be with the X-men by the end of the season.

Now, Lorna is a much bigger question mark then Rogue because they haven't shown her in either the Brotherhood or the X-Men promo pics, but in the promos they clearly show she is a member of the Brotherhood at least to start with. How long she stays with them one can only guess.

^Maybe shes just a minor character.

I don't expect her to be a major character. But, she should be no less an important character then Wanda and Pietro or dare I even say it Toad. And, it is clear from the promo that she will have a storyline in the first season and won't just be complete wallpaper. My only decient guess is that she doesn't show up until somewhere toward the middle of the first season which is why the promo people left her off. That promo pic of the Brotherhood was from 2007 as it says on the bottom of the pic probably before they finished post production on the second half of the episodes, so they may have been basing it on the characters that show up early in the first season not the ones that show up later.

In the trailer we see Lorna in Mag's helmet and Magneto drops her through a trap door. Who knows what that could mean.

On Rogue:

She's with the X-men at the very beginning, but leaves when the team disbands in the year after the mansion explosion and losing Jean and Xavier who are gone. She does join up with the Brotherhood, and in a way betrays the X-men at one point. So it could be that she's a double agent, or Rogue thinks she wants to follow the Brotherhood now before changing her mind again.

Spoiler speculation

One has to look at the high resolution picture of the scene to try to help answer that question.

Things you notice if you look at the high resolution version of the scene.

1. Genosha is being wiped out behind them and is burning to the ground.

2. Polaris didn't make her own Magneto helmet and cape instead Magneto gave her his.

That makes it unlikely that this was a coup plot or major betrayal of Genosha by Lorna given he likely wouldn't give her his helmet and cape if he was pissed at her and more likely Magneto is giving Lorna his legacy (his helmet and cape) and is sending her away from the battle because he believes Genosha is doomed and is willing to go down with his nation, but doesn't want Lorna doing the same. The most logical interpretation of the scene (given the info from the high res version) is that he thinks he is about to die, but doesn't want his legacy dying with him. There is a chance it could be something else and we will know for sure in a few months. I hope I am right, because if I am it would make for a really great scene.

Wow great analysis jmc, did you get that pic from the second trailer or elsewhere?

My guess is that the MRD and/or Sentinels are attacking Genosha and burning it to the ground ala Morrison's New X-men.

So going off of your theory, it could be that Magneto is trying to save her and force her to leave.

Know that thing about utopias? They always fall.

Marvel.com has a much higher res version of the second trailer on their site I downloaded it and watched it frame by frame.

and yes

It is probably going to be Sentinels that destroy Genosha like in the comics and yes going by my theory Magneto is kicking Lorna out of Genosha to save her life, because he doesn't want his legacy (his daughter and his helmet) dying with him.
When watching the promo I asked myself why is Magneto kicking Polaris out of Genosha in perhaps its most dire hour when every able bodied mutant might be required to fight off what is attacking the city? There are two real possibilities; the first of course is he thinks he is going to die and doesn’t want his legacy dying with him. The other is that she betrayed him or Genosha while the nation is under attack in some way, but there is no way he would give her his cape and helmet (the symbols of his legacy) if she betrayed him or Genosha in its darkest hour.

From a process of elimination Magneto kicking Lorna out of Genosha to save her life and so that his legacy will live on makes by far the most sense given the evidence from the video. However, I am sad that Genosha will likely be a pile of rubble before the first season ends. I wanted mutant controlled Genosha to last at least 2 or 3 seasons; there are so many great storyline opportunities that disappear with it gone.

This really looks like its going to be a heavy show in very much the way we wanted X-men 3 to be.

I'm not sure if they are planning a second season. They finished the first 26 episodes, but I'm not sure if they kind of wrote it like that's it and made it a little open ended for a second one, or if a second one is already in production.

It's hard to gauge before it's debut and we can see how well it does. I mean it would suck if this is the first X-men show to not be successful and have a formal ending of sorts like Evolution and TAS did.

In that jetix site, I personally find the pics and all too much childish....

But we know the animation isn't that way, hehe.

What is obvious to me if they totally wipe out Genosha is that the series is clearly being focused on a more adult audience then either of the other two X-Men animated series. I mean the destruction of Genosha was very dark even for the comics. There is no nice way to have a nation of mutants get annihilated.

Ultimate Toad!!! F-Yeah!!! And that goofy-ass smile reminds me of his Evo counterpart.

The attitude is similar. Sort of like if that version of Toad grown up. But I mean it's not the SAME Toad.

Everyone is serious, less those three freaks, hahahaha.

And now that I'm seeing it, Toad could eat Magneto's head easily, hahahahha.
