I know I know I said it before and I know there's already a casting thread/poll (that I started) but this is about one person only. Vince is just a big mother F'r and he could play the roll. I just got back from "The Break Up" which was a great movie but it finally showed off Vince being funny as hell and suddenly really pissed off. He's shown himself off as a ladies man in Wedding Crashers, he's showed a serious side in "The Break Up" and mixed it perfectly with humor. I've been participating in the Jon Favreau forums on MySpace and he's answered almost all of my questions. I Know it's a long shot and even if it does get to Vince it's a long shot in the dark that he'd ever even look at the script...but hey I have 10 seconds to type the post and ask. Also what surprised me more is I though Vaughn was more out of shape than he showed in this movie. He's so damn big he looks kind of fat but he's really not. Nothing 6 months of training with Tom Jane wouldn't fix. :)

I know there's a zillion Keaton votes out there but to me Michael Keaton would not be a physical threat to The Punisher and Jigsaw should be a Physical threat. And at Keatons age and his current looks I just don't see him being a player/ladies man. 10-15 years ago maybe but he looks like he has bone disease now.

Gets my vote - keaton is too old and has too many crap films attached to his name for him to play jigsaw. Vaughn Im not a fan of but would be perfect for the role imo...

After seeing Keaton last night on Letterman, I am officially off ther Keaton bandwagon. I still like Michael Keaton, but he isn't right for the part.

If they don't go with a familiar face for Jigsaw then they should use Saint's son as they did in the video game. However he was a skinny little goon. How can they fix that? Hey if any of you post on Favreau's myspace Iron Man forums let's all ask him to tell Vince that we want him for Jigsaw. He talks to Vince all the time and you know he'll bring it up if he get's asked enough. :)

I love Liotta too and he's a secondary choice for me but he's just too damn old and ugly looking now. Do you have a good recent picture of him without a trenchcoat on?

Problem is, Jigsaw isn't a comedic character. Humor is really the only reason you can bring Vaughn in on any project. He's got no credentials suggesting he's made for a dark or serious role. I don't consider him a physically threatening actor either... just look at him in Dodgeball. I'm not even sure he can stand up straight. He'd fit the same mold as Keaton, in that he'd be a comedian attempting a serious part, but some of those 80's/early 90's action movies Keaton did were totally miscast in my view.

Unless you want people to do nothing except wait for a punchline from Jigsaw, Vaughn just hasn't shown any potential for the job. Not to say he could NEVER do the role, but if he did it would be a definite upset of the odds... and it would be a major victory for displaying his versatility. Doesn't look good though when you consider all the bad-asses out there who are ready-made for the part.

^ Same could have been said about Bruce Willis before Die Hard. That's total BS and you know it. Vince Vaughn would be great as Jigsaw and he wouldn't need to be a comedian in it though playing a ladies man he could have his moments before he's changed.

Ugly?? Not really...I would do him. And there is some pictures of him on IMDB from September 18 2005 from the Emmy's and could pass for a guy in his 30's. I don't see why age matters if the guy can pull off looking 15 years younger than he is. With some hair dye and little of the Hollywood make-up he would be perfectly fine.

Male...it was a joke.

And okay..a pic where he has a beard, he is shivering and has gray hair. I guess you didn't look at the pics I mentioned.

I know no such thing. It was really just one show, Moonlighting. Vaughn has actually moved away from Thrillers (Psycho, Domestic Disturbance) and done something like 13 comedies since then. So no, it's really not the same at all.

^ Just one show? Don't forget about Blind Date, and his Bruno shows. It was all comedy. When he was picked for Die Hard everyone was like "WTF?"

That's from Narc. I'm just playing.

You just lost any little bit of cred with that statement. If they do that, I will personally burn every copy of the sequel.

^ I don't want that either. I already said I want Vince Vaughn but I'd rather have the above scenerio pan out than just go with some unknown or an elderly Michael Keaton. LOL However surely there are a few dozen better options betweent he two.

It was a very short period of time, it was so early in his career still when he did Die Hard. It's a far cry from more than a dozen comedy films.

It's not that different. Bruce Willis was the only male lead in Blind Date, Bruno, and Moonlighting, while Vince Vaughn has been in a string of comedy films as a co-star until recently, but he has yet to carry a film as the sold male star in a comedy until The Break Up. Everyone at the time was saying Bruce Willis for Die Hard was a clash of character. Everyone said that and nobody could see it...until of course they saw the film.

glad to have you aborad the Vaugn Bandwagon Advanced. He was born to play that role. I just hope they get Conway to write the frikin movie this time!!!!

^ I've wanted Vaughn since day 1 man. Travolta was a joke and I can truly see Vaughn being a bad ass villain even with no comedic moments at all...he could do it.

I love Vaughn but I was laughing throughout his performance in Psycho.

Psycho was some of his earliest work and his first starring vehicle and it was kind of bad. The Break Up is really his first starring role where he plays the sole lead male character. He's usually surrounded by 2 or 3 other comedians which is getting him pigeonholed.

Nope no talking around it. He gave me the gigglies in Psycho. Domestic Disturbance he did much better but still did not really reach the villain role for me. He is too likeable for me. He needs to stick to the comedic roles.

I can just see him as a ladies man with some of his patent humor and then The Punisher wrecks his life and having him come back as Jigsaw. To each his own.
