Ahh, yes.

Well, the issue I have with that is that, in my experience, children who are exposed to grotesque violence earlier in life get desensitized to it - sometimes to an alarming degree. It is my opinion that violence should always be treated with a healthy respect, and it's very easy to lose it in a culture obsessed with violent entertainment.

The children I know who were raised more carefully and not exposed to incidents of grotesque violence until later than life aren't incapable of dealing with violence - in fact, they appreciate it more. Now that they're older, they don't run from the room when a decapitation occurs in GLADIATOR screaming - they handle it just fine.
