Erik Oleson, Craig Silverstein or Ben Edlund would all be good picks for this, imo. Silverstein did such strong work with Nikita and Turn, I don't get why he isn't more in-demand. But I see he's got a new AMC show in the works. Oleson gave us the best season of Daredevil and seems like a realistic option since he came from the Berlanti stable on Arrow. Ben Edlund doesn't seem to be up to much since the end of The Tick. I would say Jane Espenson too, if she weren't busy on Whedon's new show. Speaking of Whedon, the husband/wife duo of Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, who've been running Agents of SHIELD might do well with this. That show had its ups and downs, but it had a lot of bright spots, especially when they stopped having to be "MCU adjacent" and were allowed to get pretty creative in later seasons, it seems to be going out strong, and handled an ensemble pretty well. I think Jeffrey Bell's been co-running that show with them too, and as he was the main showrunner on my favorite season of Angel (S5), I'd down for him taking the reins as well.

Ron Moore's way too busy I think.

Bryan Fuller would be great. Vince Gilligan would be incredible, and he made a name for himself with one of the biggest genre shows of the century, but I don't think he'd ever say yes to this lol.

Fuller was gonna do Star Trek Discovery for a while, so he doesn't seem that far off
That's because he's a massive Trekkie, who started his career on Star Trek: DS9 and Voyager. He talked for years about the hypothetical ST show he wanted to make. That was a very specific interest for him. At any rate, asking a Bryan Fuller or Vince Gilligan type to go work for Greg Berlanti is like asking Spielberg to go work for Michael Bay. It's below their pay grade. It's not gonna be one of these big name showrunners. But hopefully it will at least be one of these lesser-known ones who've done some good work.

How about Jonathan E. Steinberg? He was the creator and Showrunner of Black Sails, one of the best (and most underrated) shows of all ****ing time.

He could even bring Toby Schmitz along to play Sinestro.

I’ve still got my fingers crossed for Luke Evans to play Sinestro and Trevante Rhodes to play John Stewart.

I never thought id see Luke Evans in the same sentence as Sinestro. Definitely original.

DC definitely needs to scoop up Trevante Rhodes. He'd make a perfect John.

Wasn't Luke Evans rumored to play Sinestro a while back? Not sure how valid the rumor was, but either way, he'd definitely be a good choice. Rhodes would be a great John too.

Pretty sure that was only ever fan casting, but he'd certainly suit the role.

HBO Max got a new head of programming, the same head that HBO currently has (he's doing double duty now). Wonder how that'll affect this, doesn't seem far enough in production where it's too late to make changes.

Hmmm. What shall it be?
Personnel announcements, I’d have to assume.

Can’t really imagine anything else that’s remotely realistic (footage) or would make a splash (like... a rough release date or episode titles or something).

I suppose concept art could be a possibility.

Completely baseless prediction time:

Duncan Jones directs the pilot.

Or maybe it will be Bertlanti go to superhero pilot director, Glen Winter.

With all that’s been said about HBO Max’s approach to DC projects (admittedly by a guy who isn’t there anymore, but I can’t imagine the guy who’s been heading up HBO proper will feel too differently about it), I think GL will have a more cinematic feel than the shows Winter has kicked off. Granted, Doom Patrol and Stargirl show a different side and a good deal of range on his part, but I’m betting they go a different way for GL.

After seeing the Lovecraft Country premiere, Jonathan Majors for John Stewart

John Goodman as the voice of Kilowog, pls.

Marc "organic" Guggenheim? Ugh.
Funny to see Seth Grahame-Smith go from a Flash film to a Green Lantern show

I don't understand not having Hal or John in the show. It makes absolutely no sense to me.
