Omigod It Makes Perfect Sense!!!

many of us were wondering while pathetic useless characters like arclight and quill and callisto seem to be getting the chance to appear in an xfilm while more deserving characters like polaris or havok have you to make appearance, well the answer is simple....there cannon fodder.

THINK ABOUT IT! this is suppose to be an all out war and what are wars without some casualities? so i believe useless characters that have brought into the x-men film like arclight were only brought in because they knew they would be able to kill them and no other future x=man writer would want to use them.

no actually the writers said that theres a lot of x-men characters out there they are just looking for mutants w/ powers which fit in the movie and will fit the budget. i think they are saving those, the popular ones, for the future... spin-offs, sequels or even for prequels.

Wow, that was a strange post. I personally like that they're mixing it up, and have been from the beginning. It adds diversity and doesn't overcomplicate things. That's probably why they didn't add Gambit.
It would be annoying to have all these "more deserving" characters sharing screentime.

what power would you like rouge to steal ? personnaly, i love the idea of rouge steal the power from multiple man, an then each one of rouge steal the other mutans power. is that possible ?

lol

and Welcome to the Hype! :D

No character is useless, even Toad, because they all serve some purpose in the movie. And I like Storm Jedi's idea. I want to see Rogue touch Multiple Man, gain his power, and her 20 clones all get their own power and make a southern belle army.

And then what? Wait to get slaughtered? :p

yeah, i think so. I saw the cartoon and I'm pretty sure I saw her steal one power, then steal another and then she used them both. Plus, in X1, she was telling Logan that she could still feel the guy she kissed AND logan inside her hand. So she can have more than one person's power or memory I think.

He's talking about her clones stealing other people's powers.

Now that, is actually a scary thought, lol

I was really hoping that the guy playing quill was supposed to be sunfire, but thats just me.

Anywho i dont really get the argument of not having the space in the movie to delve into gambits charecter, they dont have to go that deep this time around, im sure there not going to get all up in psylockes bussiness, or even mention her brothers, hell, i dont even think they made her british. And they have never once mentioned storm being from africa! You dont have to go deep into the charecter for a good performance to come about, you just have to write some cool stuff for them to do really. But yeah i guess this is just what everyone else is getting at, i just wanted to say my piece.

I agree with you.

As much as I love Gambit, he's being overhyped by the creative team (and I know it's just an excuse to not include him)

Gambit never has been a leading role. He's supposed to be a supporting role. His whole backstory doesn't need to be developed for me to be satisfied.

Unfortunatley, when it comes to Gambit, I never will be, because they didn't even try :(

They decided it was better to lie to us and break their promises than to at least make an attempt and let us fans decide for ourselves if we were satisfied with the portrayal or not :(

Actually they did try. A couple of higher profile young actors screen tested for the part, but the writers just couldn't fit the chracter in. That's a pretty committed step I think.

who were the high profile young guys?

I remember one of them was the lead in "She's the Man." I can't remember the other. I just remember not liking them making Gambit so young. I really didn't want to see any Tiger Beat casting for him.
