One More Day Discussion Thread

Wow, your uncle was drinking some weird stuff.

Yeah, well he was in the military so I think they experimented with stuff for the buzz effect. Seemed like everything was around at least 40 proof or up, and the flavors don't work in my mind. But I guess when you're high you don't care about the taste.

My dad had some Spanish Rum he'd brought from overseas. Had a picture of a pirate on the label and was 150 proof. Straight up flamethrower stuff. But he doesn't really drink though, he just got it for parties.

What proof is rum usually?

Your Booze-O-Meter:

Everclear - 180 proof
Bacardi 151 - 151 proof
Some Single Batch Bourbons - 150 proof
Other Bourbons 100-140 proof
Various top Shelf Liquors including Gins and Vodkas - 100 Proof
Standard Mass Marketed Hard Liquor - 80 proof
Schnapps and Cordials - 45-60 proof
Fortified Wines - Up to 21% or 42 Proof
Straight Fermented Wines - Up to 15% or 30 Proof
Malt Liquor - Up to 9%
Some Specialty Beers - Up to 9%
Mass Produced Beers - 4.5%-6.5%
Malt Beverages - 4.5% - 6%

Below is a list of the highest proof liquors.

Name-----------Proof---------- -Type

Everclear ----------------190 proof ?--Grain alcohol
St. Vincent?-----------169 proof-----Rum
Austrian Stroh 80-----160 proof ?--Rum
Bacardi 151-------------151 proof ---Rum
Absinthe -----------------130 proof?-Distilled Herbal
Mezcal ?------------------110 proof--- Tequila-like
Wild Turkey------------- 108 proof--- Bourbon

The stuff my dad has is available in some countries (like Spain, where he got his) and is called OVERPROOF Rum. It's strictly flammable, and not intended to drink straight (unless you have a death wish). Overproof is anything around 150-up. Overproof is usually dark rum.

well....i just picked up BND ...here's to hoping his day is going better than mine

And im not ashamed to say i picked it up either....people can hate me all they want

All love man. Spider-man is being directed towards the next generation now. Frankly, that's not me, however, but I'm not mad at anyone who buys it. Though, I don't encourage it.

Well I always wanted to read Spidey but never got started because he had so much history behind it. I read OMD and I liked it, it made me cry a lot, and I am looking very forward to the next issue, at last I can start reading Spider-Man

i appreciate that,... i too appreciate the fact that the direction may not be for everyone and i will not bash people for not getting it just the same way people shouldnt be bashed for wanting to get it ....to each their own.

I remember getting blasted on New Years off of Mad Dog 20/20 when I was younger. I could see straight for 2 days. Horrid stuff, really.

Sorry, talking about booze is better than talking about Spidey at this point. And I did not buy it, for the record.

I've had Mad Dog 20/20 a total of once, and it was more than enough. :(
