One More Day Discussion Thread

Since it wasn't mentioned in her text box in the BND splash page, I'm going to go ahead and say that was retconned by Mesphito. How? I don't know, but I guess the same way Spider-man has web shooters and Harry Osborn's friendship again because of him.

Basically my reasoning here is 1. it would be totally great if they had at least retconned Sins Past with all this mess, therefore 2. Sins Past has not been retconned.

Dude...one little change makes a lot of really HUGE ones. They said that already. How hard is it to understand? Gods, what's the purpose of teaching you all how to read if you're just going to drool and look at the ****ing letters?

Well, I just read it a while ago... and I'm pleased.

Not great, but a good solid issue.

You can tell that they have LOTS of things that they wanted to cram into the first issue, but it comes across as pretty good, with some of Slott's funny side shining through.

I especially dug the job ads around the ones that Peter circled... some really funny stuff. Slott may have some funny things to work with, but you can tell he just loves this character and was born to write Spdier-Man.

And McNiven's art was great... at times reminding me of some old Gil Kane Spider-Man.

A good start... I can't wait for next issue.

:yay:

...who is this a response to? It's not really clear who/what you're arguing with, here.

More gross than this?

...LMMFAO, B. OSN!

Dude, we all know chicks look hot in glasses.
Anyone with glasses are hot. I'm telling you, if Peter of today wore glasses., i'd neeed extra copies. But really, Glasses are hot.

I know, I wear glasses. Who knew an iconic symbol of nerdom would turn into erotica.

~Fifthfiend- It's not really in response to anyone in particular. I'm just tired of people missing points or hints that were dropped a long time ago in the story. A lot of people *****ing on here haven't even read BND.

In a recent interview, either Wacker or Slott mentioned that Peter did something on the wedding day to ruin things between he and MJ. That was the purpose of including a few pages from the issue where Pete and MJ get married. MJ gets there first and Pete isn't there, people think he's going to stand her up, but then he shows up late. With the retcon, I'm thinking he doesn't show up at all.

Of course, that will all be revealed in later issues of ASM, which many of you claim not to be reading.

Fair enough.

Although really --

-- Dude, complaining people for not reading ASM, and then in the same post saying that really they are, in fact, reading ASM?

That's just kind of tacky.

Well, it's not like I know whether they went and bought the issue or not. People could just be *****ing to have something to be *****ing about.

That's why I said "claim". There are a lot of people saying they aren't reading it, but some of them could be sitting there with a copy right now. It's just like all the people who say they want "world peace", but don't really stand up against simple things like hate speech.

I mean that's cool, it's just that (extending the metaphor) at the same time, you're complaining about people who are in fact taking action against hate speech.

It's kind of like either you can criticize people for reading BND and *****ing, or you can criticize people for not reading BND and *****ing, but both at the same time? It's jsut a bit gauche, is all.

That's just it. I'm not criticizing the ones who've read it and are *****ing. Me including the word "claim" was just to mark my uncertainty as to weather or not these people are telling the truth. Yeah, I have insane logic, but it was a precaution against anyone being like

"Ha, screw you, I actually have read it and know what I'm talking about, but I won't admit it...just to save face."

That's where I'm coming from.

I wasn't liking BND at first, but Pete and this Carlie chick might be good together
Yeah, I actuallly like Carlie. The problem, though, is that they may be too much alike. Either way, hope she doesn't 1) Die, or 2) End up somehow being Jackpot.

Actually the end up getting married and 20 years down the road Aunt May almost dies and so Peter sells that marriage away too to Mephisto

I dont think it's Peter that needs to let her go...I think it's Marvel

OMD part 4. i just read it. That's so ****ed up. I'm actuually sitting here ****ing crying. She gave up everything for him. Everything. Then her last words were her very first words. The line that made me fall in love with her. "Face it, tiger, you just hit the Jackpot." Damn. I... damn. I didn't hate it. Not one bit. I read it as a story. I didn't read this thinking about the behind the scenes crap. I looked at this as a story I'm emotionally invested in. damn.
