Only Their Knowledge Is Important: The Brainiac Thread

I know this is out of left field as you Americans say but how about Donnie Yen? He has the charisma, the menacing presence (watch once upon a time in china II), the physicality (despite his small stature) and he brings the chinese star power that would help the film's asian B.O.

I love Donnie Yen. And while I’d be open to it, I think he’s almost too charismatic. He’s too…human to be Braniac, if that makes sense.

Rockwell is an odd choice. He’s great, but I don’t know if he’s the best guy for an intellectual role.

I could see Smith for it. Channel his Doctor energy but make it evil.

I'm intrigued by the idea of Rockwell.

Claes Bang feels like a choice more in line with Gunn's casting history though.

I like the fan casts better tbh but the proof is in the pudding—casting was pretty much a small dunk for me with Superman so I’ll hold judgment

It'll be Claes because he's likely the cheapest option.

But he's also coincidentally the best of those three choices. So it works out!

I could see it going to Claes Bang and I think that would be an excellent choice. Probably the cheapest option as well. Matt Smith has the HBO connection and we know Gunn watched house of the dragon.

We will probably find out soon enough.

Matt smith I fear would be too predictable. We kind of know what to expect and this is our chance to see an iconic supervillain brought to life in real action

Inb4 half of the DCU is just Westeros alumni (not complaining at all)
