Hey guys,

As you can tell by the thread title, what would you guys think about TDK having an opening titles sequence similar to that in the Spider-Man franchise?

I understand that in Batman Begins we didn't see the title until the end since Batman had yet to truly "begin".

However, now that Hans Zimmer has told us that we will hear the new full Batman theme in TDK since Batman has earned it now, why don't we have an opening titles sequence.

I know its not a major part of the film but since this film is part of a franchise and not a standalone film, what better way of pumping up the fans?

I remember getting pumped for SM2 and SM3 when listening to the theme music and I think alot of Bat fans will too.

Personally, I'd like to see a titles sequence in the vein of SM2 and 3 that recap the story of Batman Begins thus far. This will be especially effective since it seems there will be connections to BB. Or would you guys like to see a simpler titles sequence with just the theme ala Batman 89? Or something in between with maybe just stills of promotional pictures and credits while the theme plays?

Many other franchises such as Star Wars and James Bond have titles sequences, why not Batman?

What do you guys think?

Before this thread gets closed I just want to say that the Bats forming the symbol was probably one of my favorite openings to any movie and I'd rather it be something similar to that than an actual title sequence.

i agree the main titles do get u pumped up.

Just seeing the Bats again, perhaps with a bluish tone would be more than enough.

Oops, is there another thread like this already? I did a search and didn't find anything...:csad:

I like what BB did, straight to the story I hope TDK will be same.

That'd be a way to begin !:cwink:

That's perfect.

Same beats from Begins as the monochrome WB and DC logos come up on screen.

The Bats form with the bluish tint MiniBond posted above. They then form a huge Bat which solidifies into the Bat symbol and then breaks away ala the teaser (sans Joker card). The symbol completely breaks away and the screen flashes white. It then fades to black, and gradually opens up again with the first scene.

By doing this I noticed that I think I perfer the blue, cold tone for Batman rather than the hot and orange one in BB !

I like it when movies put the title of the film at the very end, before the credits (like Begins did). I'm not a huge fan of opening credits, unless they're done in a creative way. Otherwise you're just sitting there waiting for the story to begin. A film should always be in motion and never stay in one place or stagnate.

No, I wouldn't want an opening title sequence like that of Spider-Man's. Begins didn't have opening credits, TDK should keep to the same style of the bat symbol forming in the sky.

I agree with Monk, I only like opening titles when they're done in a creative way.

I thought the movie was going to have a green tone to it.

The Bat motif is perfect...

But not blue...I'm thinking Purple...

Unless the opening credits are cool and well done that they tease you ! I'm a huge Bond fan and I had never been a fan of the classic and usual opening credits of a Bond film....until Casino Royale's one which was fantastic ! Spiderman's 2 one was great too !

What I hate is when a movie just presents the title, the visa etc... with no sound, no music at all and then bang you begin...that's too rough ! BB oepning was pretty cool with the bats forming the batlogo: not too long, not too short, creative...!:cwink:

until now blue is the main colour we've met for this movie ! And it fits with the atmosphere and plot of the movie !

The witnesses of the WW footage said it had a green tint.

I like the Bond opening credits because...well...that's James Bond. I also like Sergio Leone opening credits. But this is my point, these are all done in an interesting way.

Then you have a movie like Lemony Snicket, where the closing credits were 10x better than the actual film.
