My FANTASTIC FOUR 2 Mock Opening Titles

I think one of the most disappointing things about this series (and by that, it's not saying much, but still) is the lack of opening titles. Nearly every major Marvel superhero has its own title sequence (X-Men, Spider-Man being the two biggies, which FF should reside next to ... not to mention Daredevil, Elektra, The Punisher and so on) so why not the Fantastic Four?

For those who've seen the title sequence made and but not used for the expanded edition of FF, I was hoping for one where that utilizes the best in special effects and obviously John Ottman's musical cues. But with Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer I was heartily disappointed when the music received momentum and the titles started coming and then ... nothing. Even my friend, who isn't really a movie enthusiast like myself, said in the theatre, "That was lame".

So I took it upon myself to do a very rough, mock opening title sequence that uses John Ottman's music to its fullest. Versus using special effects, I used photographs from the first Fantastic Four to recap for the audience. It's short, at 3:30 minutes long (usually around the running length of the Spider-Man opening titles) and while I must forewarn that it is extremely rough in execution, I merely hope it gives an idea of what a true Main Titles sequence could be like for a Fantastic Four film.

Meh....too many static shots. The Corman F4 movie did the exact same type pf breakdown of planets, but with full motion video. Plus you need to get a little more creative with the fonts. Thise were just blah and boring.

I couldn't edit anything together even if I wanted to. Just to give you a hint, I've got all these Sims 2 movie ideas in my head, but I can't even begin to piece them together using my game and Windows Moviemaker.

*edit* I don't even want to go into how disasterous capturing videos for a music video was to a song called Man's Fire. It was fiery alright. I had band members and extras catching fire all over the place.

Looks awesome! I was kinda hoping someone would come up with a CGI main titles. I could only do so much.

I dont think this one needed a big title sequence. It wouldve worked for the first one, maybe. Geneally speaking big title sequences are a waste of time, but sometimes they work. These cases are the Spider-Man trilogy, the first Batman, the Bond movies. Its an oppurtunity to establish a tone, using the images and the music. AN oppurtunity to excite you. With The X-men movies, they were really short and exciting in the time they had. The credits they had for both fantastic movies were just effing lame. The first one was like "Oh! Cool.....buildings..........how 'fantastic'......................."
for this one it was like the logo they used was so big and fancy and bombastic that you excepted more than it to just fly by. it was like

I was quite happy with the opening credits to this movie actually. Much better than the first movie IMO. I am one of those who doesn't really like drawn out opening credits. I start wriggling in my seat and wonder when the movie is actually going to start!! I prefer all the credits to be at the end.

Well done with your mock opening title sequence though Seen! (once again though, I'd prefer to see it at the end!)

Decent for a fan-made trailer. I would'nt have liked this kind of an opening sequence for the movie. I liked what they had in ROTSS (even if it was a bit like the opening titles from Superman Returns). The thing about yours is that the pictures seem in a kind of a random order. As seen with Superman II lester and Spider-Man 3, the sequences from the past movie/s should be in chronological order so it kind of shows "Fantastic Four 1 in a nutshell". The last picture in your sequence was the picture of the FF as astronauts, which is way at the beginning. If it was in order I would've liked it better and it would've seen more professional.

Also can I have that first picture of reed (where he's behind the computer with the Thing picture) and that pic of the FF as astronauts? Please?
