So the squeal to the Origin mini series exploring Wolverine's beginnings, Origin II #1 has just come out and boy does it promise a good story. It starts off (1907) where the first origin kinda ended, wolverine traumatizes, he is now living in the woods with a pack of wolves, totally dedicated to this new way of life. Hunting with said wolves and taking care of the cubs. He is not a man nor an animal but a wolf man. From the shadows lurks an intruder, a grey wolf that isn't part of the pack and a wolf wolverine doesn't trust. There is more to this wolf then meets the eye. This wolf seems...sinister. Later the pack encounters a polar bear with a metal mark besides its mouth, the bear seems disorientated, unable to hunt, wolverine tries to help the bear but yet the bear seems out of it's normal environment. Weird things are brewing in these woods. At the end of the first issue, it all comes home again, yes you should have guessed as much, wolverine is traumatizes again. I like how the story is structured, it has a natural feel to it, not much dialogue is needed, the amazing art by Adam Kubert speaks for itself. The narrative by Kieron Gillen is smooth sailing. The first issue is more a book you should be able to feel for wolverine is in 100% feral mode. :wolverine

ps: the metal mark on the bears mouth reads: Subject II N. Essex
I guess Essex has wolverine under observation.
