Transformers Original TF series was just Toy commericals...

The orginal series was just toy commericals. True, it did have a cool story backdrop of an Alien race civil war, but most of the dialoge and stories were crap, if you watch any of those old shows they are just toy commericials.

I expect the new movie will be pretty much that as well, with a movie storyline involved, but those of you going for the storyline will hate the movie from the start and not like at the finish.

Those who enjoy this movie will be going to see cars/planes transforming into giant robots and kicking the chaw out of each other in amazing action sequences.

Don't expect a LOTR type story. Expect a cheap action story for a summer blockbuster. Sit back, don't care, and be amazed by Optimus kicking the crap out of Bonecrusher at 100MPH on the highway.

The cartoon did start off that way but then they came out with the comics etc and the storylines were actually pretty big. I agree 100% that this will be a toy commercial but it's a shame because it really is a cool story with alot of potential. This could have been the next star wars. But they arent even trying to make it as good as the new star wars movies.
Bay dismissed it as a "toy movie" right off the bat. If they would have got some writers to make the story have a little more substance and made this an epic film it could have been a classic that people would have been watching 20 years from now. The old cartoons must have had something special for us to still be talking about them.


By the way Lord of the rings wasnt a fluffy toy commercial but they sure did sell a ton of LOTR figures because kids loved the characters.
I wish Peter Jackson (or anyone other than Bay) was directing this one... I wish WETA was designing it as well....

All the pics and previews that have been officially released coincide with what is in the script.
I greatly doubt they have changed the script in any significant way when they are filming specific scenes from it.
I have seen the bumblebee pics and they have confimed the flames on prime and that Megatron is an "alien Jet".
Do you want more reasons?

You need to research movie production. The revised script was February, they started filming in what? June. That's 4 months, barely enough time for pre-production on a movie this scale.

no I am under the "delusion" that I am gonna go into this movie with an open mind. You have to realize that the script that you read is not the final script for a reason...there are some changes they are making

They won't tweak or change the vehicles and maquettes. It costs too much to change those. The rewrites, at most, may be dialogue, but not scenes. We're not talking a dramatic-talky piece here, it's 75% action.

I guess I see your point. let's all keep quiet so bay and company can do whatever they want to something we like and we'll just sit around with our thumbs up our butts. We can all just be good little cronies and hope the almighty Bay will deliver unto us a good movie even though the leaked script was has a horrible story and worse dialogue than an 80's Schwartzenegger movie. regardless of the script or bad designs I bet it will all turn out great once it's filmed in the Bay style with funky camera angles and things exploding everywhere.
If we don't like the movie than we can complain afterwards right??
