Really disappointed with how this is doing at the box office. I saw it Saturday night - it's opening weekend - and there were only 3 of us in the theater. Meanwhile, down the hall, the Beetlejuice showing was nearly sold out.

Great movie though. Really hope it gets sequels.

Also, I wasn't sure... is this suppose to be canon to the Bay films??

There's no way this could be canon to the Bay films. Way too many massive contradictions, even for Bay's loose continuity.


Though I suppose it works as a prequel to just Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts, assuming Hasbro were to officially declare them a separate continuity from the five Bay films.

Its probably not going to make a profit. But I don't think it would be considered a flop with that small of a budget. A loss that might be made up in the real money, toys. Definitely thinking it should have been released in the summer.

With a $75 million budget plus marketing. It hasn't yet and might struggle to make a profit during its entire run.

Not really. Yeah, not likely to make a profit on box office, sure. But the loss isn't a terrible one. And of course, there is also the primary revenue of Transformers that helps things even out a bit.

Given the critical reception, I can see them betting on a sequel.

Finally watched the movie! I don’t watch trailers, so it was a very pleasant surprise!

I love the way they told the origins of the Transformers and Megatron (Decepticons).
