Poe was awesome, I wish he could have been used more. And heck yeas to Oscar Isaac as Hal Jordan!

I wouldn't be surprised if Poe were a family man and has a wife and child that we haven't seen. I actually think that would be more interesting then putting him in a love triangle.

My favorite part was Oscar Issac as Hal Jord- I mean Poe Dameron. Really, love that dude.

Ha, I literally had the same thought. After my 2nd screening, I told my brother "Poe Dameron is the Hal Jordan I've always wanted to see."

Because of that, seeing Oscar play Hal now would seem redundant to me (a big reason I was never on board with the Pine-For-Hal train, either). So yeah, he would've been a great Hal, but now I'm just happy we have him as Poe.

Oscar Isaac is so great, and I had high hopes for him here. Sadly, Poe ended up being the least developed of the three new leads, with little development beyond being charismatic and likeable when on screen. I'd like to see more of him in the next film.

I believe there was talk of Poe originally having more to work with in this film, but they had to short shaft his development. It's a shame because Isaac makes a character which is ultimately one-dimensional, extremely likeable, confident, charismatic and optimistic. Bring on more for him in Episode VIII.

I loved Poe Dameron. It might have been said before but it made me think a little bit about what Pacino would have been like in the Han Solo role, I think he was considered for it at some point.

Apparently the novelization of TFA implies that Rey might be developing an attraction to Poe.

I wonder if they'll address that in the movies at all?

I'd rather Rey ended up with Finn. Isn't Episode VIII supposed to have another female lead? There were rumors that Gugu M'batha-Raw had been cast. Maybe a love interest for Poe?

Yes but the reports indicate that she's being cast as a love interest for Finn.

Same here!! I like both Rey and Finn and I like how they're kinda like there for each other like sister and brother so to speak. I like Poe but I dunno...whats gonna happen in the next two. So we'll see. Who knows.

It's about the same age difference as between Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher (he's 73, she's 59, whereas Oscar is 36, Daisy is 23). And obviously that didn't stop them from going the Han/Leia route.

Well Finn definitely had a crush on Rey, but it did kinda remind me of Luke with Leia in ANH, so maybe you're not far off with the bro/sis thing. I can't comment on Rey and Poe 'til we actually see them interact, lol. I do agree with those who say the age gap seems more noticeable with them than Han/Leia, though.

A lot of stuff with Finn felt a bit like a puppy experiencing all these things, including a girl, for the first time, which fits given his childhood was stolen by the First Order. The way Rey kissed him on the head and called him "My friend" just felt more sisterly than anything.

I think it's more noticeable because Ridley looks and comes across younger than she is, she has a innocence about her. Where Carrie's voice and self assurance had a hard bitten quality even in ANH, like she was more worldly than her years.

Poe and Rey don't even meet in the movie much less speak. Actually she probably has no idea what he looks like.

If they're really gonna be together in VIII or IX, I think it's a great decision not to let Rey meeting Poe in VII as to avoid turning Poe to a mere love interest for the female lead, and let him have his own arc and his own moments in the first installment, shaping him up as a strong character, instead of just serving the purpose as a love interest.

I would prefer if there is no romance among the new leads, but if there is, I prefer Finn and Rey. They have great chemistry and it's nice to think of them having a future with each other.

Poe had no character arc but he definitely left a lot of impression. He is charming, noble, optimistic, and skillful. Oscar Isaac is one of the finest actors around, I am sure we'll get more out of him in Episode 8. I can't wait to see more Poe and Finn bromance.

My hope for VIII is that it's mostly Poe and Finn being bros and going on adventures.
