From the VF shoot - http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood...rs-the-force-awakens-photos-annie-leibovitz#1

Also I still can't tell do these new x-wings have astromechs? Is there any shot that actually shows one onboard?
Are they classic R2's or something new?
And does Dameron get one?

Cool photo but he almost looks like he's doing a yoga pose, lol.

That close up of the X-Wing is super awesome! They look so amazing!

Same here. Looks amazing up close and the split doesn't look as bad as people worried about months ago.

Do the x-wings still have R2's or are they replaced with BB's?
According to the panel, they still have R2 units.
.
OK answering my own question...

New x-wing model with bb-8 in the top.
And going by that bb-8 is actually Dameron's. Which is :woo:

BB-8 starts with Poe. That doesn't mean he is with him at the end of the film. Just like how R2 belongs to Leia, but ended up with Luke in the end.

^That's from Celebration if I'm not mistaken. I speculate that BB-8 is sent with Poe by Leia on his mission.

I love the look of the engine.

Yeah it's purely scifi/fantasy so it's meaningless, but on a purely visual bases it still bugs me a little bit that they are now splitting what is "technically" intentionally made to look somewhat like a turbine, in half. :oldrazz:

I wonder what the influence for that photo was. :hmm :funny: ;)

Same image in the magazine scan has the caption.
"Obi-Wan is my co-pilot"

Does this imply Dameron is force sensitive?
Or is this just the mag editor assuming/joking x-wing pilots all travel with Kenobi's spirit?

Pretty sure its just a joke referencing Luke hearing Obi at the Death Star.

I'm sure that if the mag editor knew Po was force sensitive he'd do more than obliquely reference that. He'd milk that info for all its worth.

Yeah, just a joke. I know the Force is "awakening" but I think they need at least one "regular" human character for audiences to relate to.

Has it been confirmed that Finn is force sensitive though? I was thinking that Rey may be the only one of the three heroes that is.

Don't think it's been confirmed.

As far as Dameron, I'm also not a big fan of the he has to be a Solo/Organa/Skywalker descendant, and force sensitive.

Although it's even more random speculation, what I am a fan of, and like the sound of-
Is....

Bad fauxtochoping aside.

Who would Leia trust to go after/protect her daughter?
I like the idea of Dameron being the last native born survivors of Alderaan (maybe secretly hidden off world buy the rebellion) . Making his allegiance/loyalties working with Leia and the Resistance powerful.

What could you possibly mean? :o

It truly is magical.
Such an iconic image, permanently ingrained in a generation's psyche forever!

The torch has been passed.

Is there anyone who didn't have this?
Anticipation for this film is like being a kid all over again.

Hahaha I used to have that action figure. In the realm of "action figures that look absolutely nothing like the actual people" I think that one takes the cake.

Am I the only one that thinks Poe and Rey will end up having a relationship?

LOL Greedo's jumpsuit comes to mind.
Original series figures weren't known for their great accuracy:funny:, but it's all we had.
Getting his hair (or is that the visor?) closer to the right color would have helped.

I'l take their stylized simplicity over all the hideous power of the steroid-extreme-stance figures of the 90s.

Definitely looks like his visor but they were too close to skin color lol

Never noticed how red the new flight suit is until now. Looks nice.
