Can we please bring phrasing back?

^ Do you want to bring phrasing back? because that´s how you bring phrasing back

also why they change the lounge name what was wrong with "With great power comes grat lounging"?

Damn... what the frick just happened???
Why did everyone lose their avatars?
why did C-Lee ban Miles?
Someone please fill me in..
Pretty much, Ultron, Maooz, myself and others made satirical threads to poke fun at all the spam threads, C. Lee shut them all down, and put all those involved on Thread Probation. Miles and DeGraves got upset, said some uncouth things towards C. Lee, and got banned.

Ok Oscop, I'll fill ya in.

For the past few days we've been getting really specific threads about yes or no issues. Basically stuff that could go into the general discussion thread.

A few respected posters decided to post equally pointless, but unrelated, threads that only losely were related to spam. Levi, Miles and Ultron did it I think?

C.Lee puts a thread/avatar ban on people for spamming. I would assume the avatar thing came with the thread ban but C.Lee will be sure to clarify I'm sure.

OriginalMiles was upset at the thread ban and Levi's ban and said something rude to C.Lee directly. I won't repeat it because I kinda enjoy this place.

Degraves, angry about Miles getting banned, unleashed an even worse tirade and also found himslef perma-banned.

Moral of the story is don't swear at admins and spam I would say.

Regardless of their final actions I think both Miles and Degraves were great posters and friends and it is absolutely devastating to see them go, but, "rules are rules".

Hopefully things can calm down now

instead of making satirical threads and whatnot, why didn't they just report the threads that could've been merged? you know, like the people who reported the spam threads?

I did it to poke fun. While I miss Miles I will say I do think the purple cap and the "should Spidey be in the movie" was not subtle enough like how mine was about his shoes.

The moral I caught is that, even if you disagree with an admin (whether it be post, action, etc.), do so in a civil manner and you'll be fine.

Hell, PM one if it gets to that point.

Treat the situations just as you would at the workplace, school, etc. regarding your boss, teacher, etc.

I'll miss 'em, but you said it, man: "Rules are rules" at the end of the day.

C. Lee, I have a question. Where were you when people were posting racist nonsense about Spider-Man being black? And there were heated discussions about that. Where were you when a user who I will not name was insulting other users? I reported that user multiple times, and so have others, yet nothing has happened. If you choose to ban me for simply questioning you, then go ahead, I can't and won't stop you.

I'm quoting this so that everyone will see my answer.

To the bolded part above.....when someone reports a post....it goes to a forum for reported posts that every one on the staff can see. It says who made the report, when it was made, quotes the post being reported, and posts the comment of the reporter about the post. This guy says he reported racial comments multiple tomes. I just went through the reported posts forum. I went all the way back to 03/16/2014 (degraves join date)....and in all of his time here he has made ONE report on anything....and that was on 01/17/2015 to report that someone was attacking HIM (non racially).

He made NO reports about racial comments.

I do not regularily post or even look into the Spider-Man forum....I don't come in until there are reports about things in here that are not being taken care of. So unless someone reports a racially offensive post, I will know nothing about it.

Oh, I'm sorry if I sounded like I was defending it one way or the other, I think that was their reasoning though.

I'm assuming their answer to your question would be "it was a joke"?

Everyone who got thread probation (that means you can't create a new thread) has it for TWO WEEKS....except for LEVITIKUZ, you have it for one month due to the amount of infraction you already had.

I think at the root of the problem is that these boards are kind of their own little community apart from the rest of the forum. People, myself included, I must regretfully admit, started treating the board here like it the Community Forum, and clearly that wasn't appreciated by C. Lee.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I'll get avatar back right?

Yes...when someone gets a probation, their avatars are temporarily removed for the length of the probation. It's all automatic.

i don't mind people arguing with me if they do it intelligently, like you said, as one would din a workplace, school, etc. i'm not saying we'll agree or see eye to eye, but i will listen to what people have to say provided i'm offered the same. that doesn't mean i'll agree or disagree, but i'm open to talking about issues.

it may have been a joke to the few in the clique, but as obvious to those who reported the threads, and there was a decent amount, it wasn't funny to everyone. these forums are frequented by 1000's of members, so when people are reporting things which are, in my opinion poor netiquette, let alone spam threads are not allowed, it doesn't make our job fun.

Ok. Makes sense.

People need to remember...you see something offensive, report it....and that means clicking on the REPORT A POST button not just saying in the thread that it happens that someone needs to do something about it.

This site is open 24 hours a day seven days a week. We have multiple mods on staff, but there is no way possible for us to read every single post made on here. Not every mod comes into every forum. We can't take care of things if we don't see them.

Okay. I can understand that. While I don't agree with everything that happened, I'm glad you're willing to explain and discuss it.

Thanks for filling me in... sucks that Degraves and Miles got banned. I'm gonna miss them.

as the mod of the community, i totally get that. i picture the hype as a highschool and the different hero forums as cliques so to speak. and of course you'll have little groups within groups. Groupception!
but i try my best to keep the community from being too clique-y. it's much more open and allowable there as that section is a free-for-all. some people feel out of the loop with some of the clique behavior and are less likely to participate as they feel they're not welcome. i try to prevent that as best i can, but it happens. sometimes it can't be helped.

on section specific areas such as this, the criteria and topics are much more streamlined, akin to someone picking up a newspaper and only wanting to read the sports section, or the classifieds. they don't want the weather report while they're looking up something specific. i hope that makes sense?

Okay. I can understand that. While I don't agree with everything that happened, I'm glad you're willing to explain and discuss it.
my PM box is always open. i may not be able to answer immediately and sometimes regrettably it takes a day or two, but i always try to get back to you

While we've got the big mods in town!

This part of the forums is really messy right now given that we've still got a lot of old TASM3 posts around. It's sort of mangled together.

Eventually the 1st page will just be all Spider-Man (2017) but the subforum will always be inherently messy.

Are there any plans to merge the TASM1-3 posts into one subforum akin to the Raimi Subforum? I'm not sure how much work that is so if I'm suggesting the internet equivlent of brain surgery I apologise
