Popular G.I. Joe character Snake Eyes is getting his own movie.

Paramount Pictures has thrown a Joe spinoff movie featuring the commando into development, with Evan Spiliotopoulos, the writer of Beauty and the Beast and The Huntsman: Winter’s War, in talks to pen the script.

Brian Goldner is among those producing the feature based on the Hasbro toyline.

Based on the track record of this franchise, not only will Snake Eyes talk, he'll perform a diagetic rap number in the second act.

Snake Eyes is my Fave GI Joe Character cant wait to hear more , but i hope StormShadow will also show up in this

I'm not holding my breath. Snake Eyes is a mute, and they refused to work with that beforehand and they also set up Scarlet with freaking Ripcord.

I'm intrigued how they will make this work?

Maybe a prequel with him and SS training before they choose their different paths in life?

It couldn't really be a prequel. They'd have to start over from scratch.

I like Snake Eyes, so I'm interested in a movie all about him. However...might be hard to get general auidences to get invested in a character who:

Does not remove his helmet
Does not talk.

Those two things are integral to the character, can't change that up much.

Can a modern audience except that Snake Eyes is a giant weeaboo without calling him Mighty Whitey?

People whined about Iron Fist being a white guy who trains martial arts in a fictional Asian city.

They got the wrong Whitey. Justin Chatwin is available.

Well, this is something I don't think anyone had asked for, but hey, it was kinda' the same thing with Solo, and that seems to be looking good. It could work, we'll see(if so, better yet, maybe someone will green-light a Ninja Gaiden movie:))...

They should make a Inhumanoids movie and traumatize a whole new generation of kids

You know the eighties were a different time when someone thought a thirty feet tall bloody, half skeletal bird monster was something to put in a a children's cartoon.
