Everything from the 3pm cabinet explosion to the ending was awesome. Even with all the silliness I was highly entertained. But, before that, it was kind of boring. The characters really weren't that interesting and a lot of it was a re-hash of the original. So, I guess, I'll call it a tie. The original was better overall, but the "scares" were WAY better here.

Paranormal Activity 2...another let down that will make tons of cash.This has to be the laziest demon in any film I have ever seen.He shoves a few things around.When the demon drops something the audience acts like it's the scariest thing they've ever seen.I am sure we will get a sequel next year.

I was not impressed by the first movie. The second movie was also boring until the middle/ close to the end of the movie. I liked the second one over the first but I already kind of bored with these movies. You' re right though para normal activity is the new Saw franchise. I wouldn't be suprised if we see a new movie every year for Halloween. Lol the next one might even be in 3D.

Just viewed it. It's better than the first but that doesn't really mean much from my point of view. The characters were a tad more interesting but the movie is still the same "nothing happens till the end" format and I just plain don't care for that.

I just don't get this series.

Wow, I'm disappointed to say the least. I actually enjoyed the first film for what it was but for some reason just found this one to be boring. Especially after reading some reviews that said there were more scares in this one. It just seemed like more of the same, except the first time I enjoyed it more.

The only really scary moment for me was the cabinet scene in the kitchen during daylight.
When she gets dragged all over the house you saw it coming, i mean you knew something was about to happended.. and what about the pool cleaner getting out the pool by itself? that was funny, I laughed a lot during that scene.
The ending was lame and for christ sake, the angle they tried to give with justification about seeling your soul for wealth and power was just wrong. I mean the chick from the first flick kills everyone? stupid. I got really bored in the first 20min

I was a big fan of the first one but not so much for the second one.

ha ha. Where were the scary scenes in the first one? Because I watched it and I wasn't scared one bit. Atleast PA2 looked better and the acting was better to boot. I also didn't have to deal with the non-acting priest and husband. (a great deal anyway)

First one, dumb. Second one, still dumb, and not even an advancement of story structure. Plus the ridiculous ending, when[BLACKOUT] the mother gets killed into the camera[/BLACKOUT] I predicted that sort of ending when I learned this movie existed.

I mean we know that Katie gets killled in the first one by the police, but she doesnt have hunter with her. So where's hunter? And im sure the sister Ali who is the only one that survived would want to know where Hunter is. And supposedly Katie and Kristie's grandmother or great grandma made a deal with a demon at some point, so would it be about Ali finding more relatives but the demon reaches them?
Or would it be about Hunter being adopted by another family? There are several routes you can take with the 3rd PA.

This movie was great. Definitely tops the first one. And thank goodness for a great crowd who was as into the movie just as much as I was. Everybody was on jump mode. It was beautiful.

What was scratched on that door leading to the basement though?

After Kristi is dragged down into the basement, she's down there for ever. Being possessed, and then the next day, while Ali is walking around, she opens the door and sees all the scratch marks and everything. And she mentions that some of the scratches look like letter, but she's unable to read them. Looked like it could have been either "HELP" or "MELK" ... though "MELK" doesnt make any sense, it's why I'm so curious at the same time lol

I just saw this movie for the first time, I just never got around to seeing it in the theaters and it recently released so I thought I'd give it a chance. Watching it at home really enhances that feeling that you're viewing security cam footage. I thought it was pretty decent. I watched it with a group of friends and we had fun with it.
