Not much I can say about this as you've all echoed my feelings on the film. It was pretty awesome.

I will say though the dog bit really got to me - but damn was that dog a good actor!

This movie was great. Definitely tops the first one. And thank goodness for a great crowd who was as into the movie just as much as I was. Everybody was on jump mode. It was beautiful.

What was scratched on that door leading to the basement though?

After Kristi is dragged down into the basement, she's down there for ever. Being possessed, and then the next day, while Ali is walking around, she opens the door and sees all the scratch marks and everything. And she mentions that some of the scratches look like letter, but she's unable to read them. Looked like it could have been either "HELP" or "MELK" ... though "MELK" doesnt make any sense, it's why I'm so curious at the same time lol

Just saw it. I really dug it. In fact I would have this very high on the horror sequels list, since I don't really like many except for Evil dead 2, Scream 2, etc. I'm glad that instead of
just enlarging the screen time and surroundings of the villain like almost all horror sequels do, it stays on the same level. It's still the invisible force, and it's still about the noise you hear and the dread of the moment.

4.5/5 (Same rating I gave part 1) I really dig these.

I found the first one entertaining enough to see the second one. As many discovered though, it was far from the scariest movie I've ever seen. That still goes to The Blair Witch Project. For some reason that movie just hit like a core fear of mine.

fear of boredom, sorry a pet peeve of mine blair witch was boring and hardly scary

i've seen the first one and it was alright, wasn't really that scary though i did feel some of it was down right stupid not the film but the character decisions

Not to bad at all. But there are some Deleted Scenes  ****ed up how the dad screwed Katie over. But to be fair it seems like that Demon has been haunting both girls their entire lives. It would have gotten to Katie eventually. But the dad did get his. Though did this Demon have nothing better to do while waiting for either sisters to have their first Male baby ? Like make other deals & haunt other family's ? The Nanny should have died as well though :o

I think taking the possessed woman from the first film into account, this demon has definitely been getting around.

How much getting around could this Demon have done when all it has haunted was two sisters & their mother ?

And I was saying that take the Dianne woman into account, since this demon possessed her as well. I assume from that event that its been terrorizing other people as well.

Are there any stills, pics or names of the cast of this; can't seem to find it anywhere? The brunette, not katie, is a cutie and i can't seem to remember where i've seen her before.....

That was more then likely before that woman in in their family made the deal

Fair enough, it's a common enough opinion. I haven't seen it for years so I can't really comment on it now but I just remember when it first came out and all the hype surrounding it not knowing if it was real footage or not, I just remember being scared crapless during and after it. Who knows, now I may watch it and just laugh. lol.

Movie didn't top the first one in the slightest. Few good scares. But I felt the original was much better.

Also the demon makes it's way to Tokyo in Tokyo Night so.

I disagree lol. I found the second one to be a big improvement over the first. This movie gives you more backstory and more scares. It started out slow ( like the first 20 or so mins) but once the demon starts getting crazy it will keep you hooked til the end. The first movie was boring as all hell until like the last 10 mins.

I just loved how.... *BIG SPOILERS*

Katie is standing behind the dad then dissapears and suddenly comes out of nowhere and breaks his neck.

That was freakishly awesome. :woot:

I have noticed that with these types of scary movies its the smart ass' that dont seem to think its scary, that have too much pride, etc. If you go into these types of films suprised and not guarded or not being a smart ass not only is it scary but its really entertaining. I personally loved this movie, it wasnt as good as say the blair witch project but still a great movie. I even go to say that its this decades blair witch project as i havent seen a movie with the same style be so effective as the paranormal films. 4.5/5

After that haul, PA3 is on its way. **** was made for 3 million bones, and reaped 41 million in two days. Yeah.

That was more then likely before that woman in in their family made the deal

Who knows. Many people could have made deals with this thing. Plus I still take things said in the first film into account, and the demon said goodbye Diane on the board, so I believe it has been haunting more people than this family.

I didn't watch the first one but I went Friday to watch this one and I have to say: I was disappointed. I really REALLY wanted to enjoy it but I just couldn't. It was more of a waiting game with this damn movie than anything. The scares were few and far between. I'm glad my crowd agreed with me when everyone booed it at the end.

I thought the first one was alright at best and not scary at all. I forgave it's uneven acting and I thought it had some ingenious marketing. This one was pretty terrible. It's the exact same movie as the first one but with a baby and a dog. Had a few scares but that is about it.

PA2 had more exposition but I think the first one was better. The demon seemed more active in the first. The dad in PA2 was such a *****e.

lol this movie made back its money in less than 10 hours from its release

*cough* wanna say something to me Bill?
You were right. [blackout] For once. And I'm sorry for doubting you of master of .gifs :p[/blackout]

Also the characters were not anymore fleshed out than Katie and Micah were in the first one. They were just as about as fleshed out as them. The back-story is completely unnecessary and in a way sort of downgrades the first one. The mystery of the first one was what made it more scary to me, to know that now...

Katie, who I actually liked, compared to say the Dad or even her sister, who I felt was pretty lacking in character despite her being Katie's sister being a big DEAL, had it pawned off on her by a complete ******* that made me wish Micah was back, who I completely was annoyed by in the first one, was infuriating. The only people I feel like I really got to know where the ******* Dad, his daughter who was actually kind of cool, and THE MAID, the MAID of all people. The intimacy of the first one is destroyed by the family element in this one. Especially when half of the family is completely unlikeable or lacking in character.

Paranormal Activity was just a film that you walk out of and the less you know about the back-story and what the **** was going on, makes it more scary, kind of like the first original Halloween movie or even a more recent example like The Strangers where it's scary because you don't know why the villain of the piece is doing what it's doing.

is the second one just like the first one? such as loud footsteps, doors closing etc? Just wondering because I saw the first one and I was not scared. It was stupid. Should I go see this?
