Then how come it's the most traded in of any of the Spider-Man movies?

I'll vouch that you never flip flopped on your position on Spidey 3, but the truth is go to in store that allows you to trade in movies and there's a **** ton of copies of 3 compared to the amount of copies of 1 and 2. That speaks for it's quality ALOT.

well, I know alot of the GA didn't like it either - there's a reason why the first two have at least 90% approval rating and 3 had 64% on RT - although it's my favorite, it certainly could benefit from sony putting out a 3.1 dvd. alot of people were disappointed in it. But most forgot about it, moved on, changed an opinion about it, or just didn't care enough. Plus, it's apparently an unpopular opinion to like the raimi films all the sudden.

I think that's just a outrageous slap in the face to even mention the name of the original Halloween and Paranormal Activity in the same sentence.

i think you are an outrageous slap to horror films in general :hehe::oldrazz:

The Strangers sucked. Stupid protagonists, boring invincible bad guys, and a **** ton of cliches that were played horribly straight.

I think that movie was more overhyped then Paranormal Activity. People were saying how scary it was but the only part that was somewhat creepy was when Liv Tyler is in the kitchen and at the back of the kitchen you can see one of the killers staring at her before he disappears. Other than that the rest of the movie was lame and the ending was ******.

Which is then repeated thousands of times... making a hilarious drinking game if anyone is wondering. Drink every time the Strangers uses a horror cliche completely straight.

Of course, you might be dead before the morning... unlike a certain someone in the Strangers, which adds another layer of crap on the movie.

So what there's another camera just happening to be lying around? And it was "recovered" That's even lamer and such a cop out.

Or footage that just wasn't used in the first film, from the same camera. They had that camera running for most of a month, and only about 90 minutes of it made up the length of the film.

It would make perfect sense, if the plot of the next film is about a search for Katie and a closer examination of the video footage for clues, that we might see 'additional' footage that we didn't see in the first film, which would explain why Micah would be returning for a sequel.

It's really not that hard to figure out.

Can we take the Spiderman discussion to the Spiderman forums? This really has nothing to do with this film. Thanks. :yay:

So that it would basically be a prequel then? Since it was using film from the past so to speak?

There's a comic I hear that explains what happen to her. Its just sucking money out of people I admit other movies do it too, but the home movie look will not appeal to people like the first did. Plus I know a lot who liked it in theaters, but said they watched it on dvd they didn't care for it.

Well, it doesn't have to be a prequel.

If we assume the sequel is a continuation from where the first film left off, with Micah murdered and Katie missing...that would leave someone trying to find out where she went.

That would mean going through all of their video footage that they left behind. Since they shot about a month's worth of video, that would obviously leave more footage than we got to see in the first film.

Which means they can add new stuff with Micah and Katie - without bringing anyone back from the dead. They'll probably just shoot new 'footage' and work it into the sequel somehow.

And that happens with a lot of horror movies. Who knows? If it's good, it could be hit. If not, it's Blair Witch 2.

I liked the first film. I didn't think it was the scariest movie ever, but it was pretty damn creepy in parts and I thought it was a great idea. I'm curious to see what they would do in a sequel.

I still say this movie doesn't get made and if it does its not gonna come out this year. They have a October release date and no script (not that mattered in the first one) no director and so far no cast (officially yet) And not to bring up the feud between Saw and PA. But Saw is already way into their shooting schedule.

So unless they only need like 2 weeks to shoot and 2 weeks to edit and all that other stuff, I don't see it coming out this year. Thats not hating or anything, I'm just point out the facts. And if it does get rushed, well we all know how those type of movies end up, don't we?

The Director of Paranormal Activity 2 is..

ME!!!! Not not really.

Who better to announce the director of this October's Paranormal Activity 2 than the original film's Oren Peli.

Peli states at ParanormalMovie.com that Kip Williams is the man for the job. He's working from a script by Michael Perry. "I don't want to spoil the story," says Peli, "but I promise it'll surprise you."

Who is Kip Williams (pictured)? Well, run a search at the IMDB and Tod Williams' listing will come up (Kip is a nickname). He directed The Door in the Floor with Kim Bassinger and Jeff Bridges, before that, The Adventures of Sebastian Cole with Entourage's Adrian Grenier.

So, at the end of the day, the director turned out to be none of the contenders the L.A. Times said were up for the film (Brad Anderson, Brian De Palma, Greg McLean...)

Peli is producing the sequel. It was recently announced that Akiva Goldsman was brought in as an executive producer. Paranormal Activity 2 opens on October 22.

Paramount Pictures has announced that Kip Williams will be replacing Kevin Greutert as the director of Paranormal Activity 2. In even bigger news the studio confirms the planned October 22 release that will put it up against Lionsgate's Saw for the second straight year. The Paranormal sequel was penned by Michael R. Perry. "We are thrilled to have Kip working with us," producer Oren Peli said. "He is the guy we want at the helm, because he knows exactly what we want to deliver to the fans."

Why do people go by names that aren't even their names? I mean its not even a middle name or something. How does someone get the nick name Kip? These is like the 3rd or so "Celeb" who uses the name Kip, but its not their real name. Because Kip is really my real first name.

Why do you keep updating us on a film you apparently despise? thats my question.

Because maybe I wanted to ask that question. Plus that doesn't stop others from doing such a thing.

It wasn't the scariest film but it wasn't boring either. I am hoping the 2nd just doesn't go for a quick buck.

Well, I hate to say it, but it seems that way. Filming in May and cramming everything to make a October Release date. Which is about 5 months.

But if its anything like the first it won't take much filming or editing.

I want them to add to it though and not just rehash the first. I mean it shouldn't just be the first regurgitated.

LOL even though my name is mr. para-normal (just something random that popped in my head) I found this movie to be very overrated. With all the people demanding it to come to their town and critcs quotes saying "the scariest movie of all time" etc. The only part of the movie that was intense was the part where the demon or whatever it is gets stronger and pulls the girl out of her bed. Then the ending had me tense. But other than that I found the movie to be pretty boring with a pretty much non existant story.

I doubt they will. Just throw in a few different things that don;t help anything.

 wouldnt that be the point of making a sequel

Not really. Usually when a movie has a sequel the previous movie must of had some story to continue. In para-normal Activity there really is not story at all. Nothing is explained all we know is this girl is haunted by a demon and she ends up getting possseed by it and kills her boyfriend The End. If they did a sequel whats to tell? Just a new couple being haunted by the demon or something?

it doesnt have to go to that route, you can still stick with this story, just need to open your mind to other possibilities.

but whatever ill stop talking for now, JAL may come on and bash me for whatever reason.

Ill take PA2 over any Platinum Dunes remakes.
