Paranormal Activity

I caught it Thursday night, at first I wasn't impressed. It was like, just a lot of noises and a somewhat unsettling ending. But then, as I lay in bed at night for the past two nights, every little noise, be it the dog, or Claire whining or really anything made me jump. It really does unsettle you in retrospect. And that's what it sets out to do, right?

Wow that documentary is such tacky crap, the scariest thing about it is the grisly looking narrator.

Loved the plots, characters, set up, loved the handheld camera thing, and heck, my girlfriends name (Edina) actually showed up in the movie, which to be honest, we've never heard of her name outside of her family.

Still, the movie wasn't scary, and the purpose was to scare me. If anything it entertained me because of the stupid boyfriend cracking jokes constantly. There were a few creep out moments, but they never lasted long and the extremely formulaic set up of "Day time= Safe, Night=Scares" just got real old real fast.

3/10.

i didn't find the movie scary, but I still enjoyed it. Like so many other horror movies the character's actions and decisions were so unbelievable that it made the movie hard to take seriously.

Saw the film, bored by it, riffed it so I got some entertainment value out of it.

Original ending has been released:

I definitely think they made the right decision with the new ending. This one fits the tone of the film better, but as a finisher it does come off very underwhelming. Not to say the theatrical ending was without it's faults, but it was more of a crowd-pleaser, imo.

Taking out the [blackout]camera attack[/blackout] and replacing it with the other ending of [blackout]the knife slitting[/blackout] would've been the best of both worlds.

I agree. The suicide would have been the better ending. [blackout]It was creepy when the friend arrived in the house, not knowing that Katie was upstairs but the rest was a downer. This version seemed more tragic. The demon lets go of Katie just to have her be shot by police. [/blackout] Not as scary, but more fitting. My version would have had her throw Micah at the camera and then slit her throat in front of the camera as she smiles.

I dont take your opinion for much.
Don't matter much to me. I'm not here to be loved. or just hover to something cause its popular at the moment.

Most of the movies its just two boring people fighting, with the occasional wtf moment, but other then that it was just watching someones home video.

i went in the theater just expecting a good horror film and it exceeded my expectations, i also had a great crowd that helped alot

Thanks Crook for posting the original ending. After watching the clip I have to say I like the theatrical ending better. The original ending seemed anticlimatic to me.

My advice to anyone that hasnt seen the movie is to ignore the hype and not think about it too much before you see it. Its a good flick but at the same time, dont listen to the hype. Its not that good.

I thought that original ending posted above sucks. And the ending where she [blackout]slits her throat just seems pretty anticlimactic. I don't see why the demon would waste all that time if it just wanted to slit her throat.[/blackout] I think the theatrical ending is the best one.

agreed, overhyped for sure
I mean I tried giving the movie the benefit of the doubt, but it was just so boring in some places, and the people were way to annoying, i just wanted to jump into the screen and slap the *****ebag boyfriend.

lol i know

imo it would have been better[BLACKOUT] if the boyfriend didn't believe her the whole movie, telling her she's crazy like a schizophrenic and even have the crowd thinking she's crazy than and the end we find out she was telling the truth the whole time after seeing the threatrical ending
[/BLACKOUT]
