This was so over hyped, I wasn't scared one bit, and people crying all around me in the cinema was hilarious, seriously, the fact from the start you know it's not real...forget it, totally overhyped
That has never affected a film's ability to conjure up emotions within a viewer.

thanks crook... if you thought it was way overhyped... and claim to have a fine imagination, a better reasoning took over and you were deemed to automatically criticize the film the second the lights went down... if you let it happen and your imagination started to play tricks on you during the film, congrats... you got what the film was trying to do.. this whole I laughed at people when they was scared thing is your way of saying you were creeped out or scared but someone was more freaked out than you, so Ill spend my $12 bucks on watching them than get myself scared out of mind when I go back to my empty house/apartment... I'm just sayin'..

 as one of the geezers of the boards (40 yrs. old) and scored this 10/10, your opinion has offended me. I've been watching movies since I was 7 (yes, I saw Jaws, Carrie and Exorcist IN theaters) and while I don't speak for the other 9 scared crap-less people... I was scared out of my mind... and that includes freaked out... even seeing the trailer with the "good parts" exposed, knowing full well it wasn't real... me and my theater had a great time sharing this experience... I loved it... you didn't... that is all...
That's fine! I'm not trying to offend. I was just saying that's how I feel. I'm sorry if I offended.

I liked the film, but as horror film, it falls low, IMO.

I rather liked it and I went in with a fairly low expectation. It wasn't scary, I wouldn't say that, but it was creepy and cool. It's not a keeper, but I was happy I watched it. It was raw and entertaining enough that I was rivited the whole time. :)

Same here. I'm glad I went to see it (I was truly happy with the audience I went to see it with). It was a fun, cool little pre-Halloween spook movie. We need more movies like this for around this time period (a.k.a. Halloween). I'm sick of seeing 'Saw' dominate because it's not even scary! I must say that I liked 'Saw VI' better than this film (something I personally wasn't expecting). However, we need something more terrifying for this time of year. Honestly. :yay:

Watched it today, I was a bit creeped out at times, and even once i plugged my ears. I didn't expect the ending though, and the theater i was in packed and the audience where screaming and crying at times.

It was a fun experience.

8/10

Question, guys. Haven't seen the movie yet, probably going with some friends tomorrow. How heavy is it on the "jump" scares?

There is one, maybe two jump scares in the entire film.

I really hate the people in the trailer, who are supposed to be watching the film. They make me sick.

If your really curious on the jump scares.........

BIG SPOILER!!!

at the end when Mika flies at the camera the whole audience screamed and because of the sudden loud screaming it made me jump a bit...

Other then that, nothing else made me jump, but there where times where i thought something was going to pop out.

Truth be told, I actually watched that part on youtube.:o

I've gotta say that this was a decent surprise for me. I came in with ultra low expectations, but it was actually a good movie IMO. Maybe it might have been ruined if I was watching in a theater with ******s talking the whole time, but I was able to watch it free of that. This movie isn't some epic movie of great proportions, but it's a good watch with a nice build up. It just might be the best horror movie that's come out this year, but that's not really saying much when you look at the absolute garbage that has been released in 2009. I've heard that they're making a sequel, and I don't think it would work. [REC] as a sequel could work because everything happened in one building. The way this was set up, a sequel just wouldn't work unless you got really absurd. This was something that affected only the two main characters, so I think they should stop there. Regardless this movie is worth a watch.

Yeah, I'm not sure a sequel would work either. This is the kind of movie that the one shot is best. To keep repeating the style of it would just get boring really fast. :(

Going to a super late showing of this tonight.

Oh my God door moved five inches, let me be a movie theater drama queen and scream.

People like that make me sick.

This weekend this faux-reality film gets his tail kicked by a movie about a REAL entity that violated people in their bedrooms.

Really? Let's not go there, shall we? :whatever:
