Does anyone else think Matt's new found ability to draw the future is incredibly lame? It just seems like an absurd plot twist to me. What does everyone else think?

kring can't write properly and requires this plot device to push the show forward

unfortunately, the paintings have become anti-climatic and any 'shocking revelation' is either taken out of context or retconned so it makes no difference in the end.

I'd like it better if he just saw the future through visions in his head instead of drawing them out.

Other then that, Parkman is still becoming one of my favorite characters on the show even after I didn't care all that much about him through half of season one.

It's lame and overused. No more painting the future please Kring.

I can fully accept being clairvoyant as an evolution of his base power, but executing it through painting is meh, just the same crap rehashed. It should have been presented in a new way, like Angela dreaming possible future instances.

I hate it myself, they should have just left that power with Peter or Syler if they needed it that bad >>

Not that big of a fan. Like other things in this show, the visions paintings have lost their original meaning and spark. Its time to retire them, bring in a new charecter with power to see the future who interprets them in their own way (that doesnt involve drawing/painting). For someone who wanted to keep this show original and somewhat changing, Kring sure likes to fall back on old tricks.

All they have done is tarnish Isaac's memory and impact on the show. And well they have just made the power stupid by letting anyone aquire it and magically have the ability to draw.

so far i hate it. It just seems unnecessary. I wish they could make some other way to find out about future catastrophes. or better, just deal with the present like what they doing with (hopefully) with Volume 4.

I think what happened was that they noticed things people liked in season one, and things people didn't like in season two.
People liked linderman, but they didn't like Bob, so Bobs out and linderman was brought back in... sort of.
People like the painting elemant, but seemed to be missing from season two, so they brought it back.

I hate it...it is the exact same recycled plot device that has been used for 4 volumes now...STOP IT.

*wonders if anyone will admit they love it*

hate it. they definitely need to stop letting just anybody see into the future. it's so annoying.

Angela has the power to dream the future so why couldn't they just use her?

When Usutu was explaining to Matt that he was "Chosen" did anyone else get the Phoenix Force-Like Vibe.

I love it . I just wish one of those paintings would actually be consequential.

Love Tim Sale's work. But I don't like that Parkman has the power. They should have just kept that Usutu dude alive.

It's f--king stupid. If Kring wanted to be a lazy f--k and have a plot device to just get people into action and they needed to use Matt...

The only smart way to do it, which would still suck hard, would for his telepathy to get too powerful that he starts to read minds all over the world... in which he starts to get a feel for just which direction the world would be going in through knowing what everyone thinks, all the time. It would be different, it would affect the character and do something new with him... and it wouldn't be f--king drawings again.

I dislike it I'm getting tired of this paint the future crap.

I feel that this new development with Matt is the only really horrid thing so far this volume.

Hate it only because it's really cheap writing. Recycling a power is fine by me. I actually encourage it as we're up to probably over 100 observed powers so far. But to just attach it to a main character with pre-established powers to move things along is lazy writing, nothing more. Reminds me of how X3 miraculously gave Callisto the power of speed AND detection of mutants.

Lame. Should have had a new character do the same damn thing.

I'm going to hold off form saying it's lame or other wise now. At the moment I don't like it but I wanna know what they make of it.

You already know what they will make of it. He can paint the future and they will try to stop what he painted from happening...the end.
