Parks and Recreation - Part 1

All season 7 has been is recycled Michael Scott stories, just putting Andy into Michael's place.

Actually, it's season 8 now. People just don't care enough to change the thread title. :hehe:

Season 8 makes season 6 look like season 2 :o

I don't think Amy will leave Parks and Rec. The likely scenario is NBC canceling the series after it gets to approx. 100 episodes due to the low ratings it gets. Which in the grand scheme of things it may not be bad.

Like I mentioned in The Office thread, if The Office ended after 100 episodes we would be wanting a movie or spinoff, or certainly more open to it than a Schrute Farms one. Two and a half seasons later we just want the show to end.

I think The Office started to decline when they came back after the strike. The latter half of season 5 and all of season 6 were pretty poor. Season 7 became good again when Holly came back all the way to Michael's last episode. Now it's just plain awful.

The later half of season five was arguably the show's best batch of episodes outside season two/three. The Michael Scott Paper Company brought some life back into the series.

The show's decline happened in season six. It had some good episodes, the highlight being Jim and Pam's wedding.

Introduction of Gabe.

The just sad unfunny episode of Scott's Tots.

The Mafia episode.

The over the top Delivery episodes of Pam and Jim's baby.

Michael dating Pam's mom was over before it even started.

Episode 120, New Leads, was when The Office died. Michael and Dwight fighting in garbage against a green screen. Horribly not funny.

A very weak season finale, The Office season finales always left you wanting more and this and season seven's did not.

Gabe.

There was also that one episode where it was just a bunch of clips from past episodes. I think it was after Jim and Pam's wedding.

I guess I'm in the minority since I didn't like the latter half of season 5. I was not a fan of the Michael Scott Paper Company arc. As far as I am concerned, the show started its decline when they got back from the strike. Of course, season 8 is so bad right now that I wish we get back to season 6 standards....

I guess everyone has a different idea of where the show went south. But there's no debating that the show was at its highest point during season 2 and 3..... and, of course, that season 8 is utter ****. :o

Yeah, that's pretty much the consensus.

Leave the sad Office talk out of this beautiful thread.

I feel bad for Chris. And that one woman with the attitude...married to the guy who acts like Fry. She gets hotter...

I just read that Aubrey Plaza (April) is making a feature film with the very funny Lauren Lapkus, who plays Dee Dee on the new sitcom "Is That You, Chelsea?".

Two very funny women with very different schticks. Snarky and Ditzy.

And yet one is on a funny show and another one is in a piece of crap.

From TVLine:
Question: Parks and Recreation is my favorite show, so is it wrong of me that I don’t want Leslie to win the election? It seems like it will completely ruin the snow and separate the characters. After all, it’s called Parks and Recreation! —Sara
Ausiello: Would it make you feel better if I told you the odds of her winning went from 50/50 to 1-in-4? That’s right, Paul Rudd’s Bobby Newport isn’t her only competition in the race for city council. We’ll learn in an upcoming debate-themed episode that Leslie is also up against a trigger-happy far-right local gun shop owner as well as local porn star Brandi Maxxx.
This election is turning into as much of a joke as......... any real election. :awesome:

I think the show works better if Leslie doesn't win her very first election, but comes close. The show's series finale can be her winning something higher than city council, like mayor or state rep.

Good to see Chris explain who he's supporting. It makes sense, since if Bobby Newport wins, there's no guarantee Chris keeps his job. With Leslie, Chris will most likely keep his job.

I hope they give an episode to Ron's birthday riddles and not leave it as a one-off joke. That would be just awesome.

LOL, Ron is even a big-time player in a gay bar. :funny:

As soon as Ron hit the gay bar, I had a feeling a bunch of dudes were gonna eye him.

God this show is rocking. Every since that last years premiere they have been excellent week by week.

Ron's animal magnetism crosses all lines of gender and sexual orientation. Good thing Pawnee doesn't have a lesbian bar, or else he'd make them all swoon with just one sharp nod of his chin. ;)

Ron's reaction = best thing ever
