July has just sucked for the most part. Bad news after bad news.
If the show ends this season I'd be find with that. I mean I'd want more but 6 (or 5 since season 1 is pretty meh) is a good run for a TV show
But i dont get why this show isnt more popular in the ratings. The humor isnt that hard to get or understand
UPDATE: Parks and Recreation co-creator Michael Schur has released the following statement:
The news about Rob and Rashida is true — they will be leaving the show after the 13th episode of the upcoming season six. We’ve been working on their storyline (on and off) for four seasons now, and heading into this year, with the two of them contemplating parenthood, it felt like a natural time to move them into the next phase.
We absolutely love both Rashida and Rob, and will be sad to see them go. Rashida was one of the very first people we knew we wanted in the cast, and as important as Ann is to Leslie (and vice-versa), she’ll certainly never be far from Pawnee. Rob we initially thought we could only have for six or eight episodes, and we couldn’t be happier that he will have stuck around for 75.
They are wonderful, funny, committed actors, they’ve been a huge part of the Parks and Rec family, and we think we have a great Pawnee send-off in the works for them.
I just hope they don't try to shoe-horn in almost identical new characters like alot of shows (mostly comedies) have done poorly in the past (Eric/Kelso hybrid on That 70s Show after Grace and Kutcher left, turning Andy into Michael 2.0 on The Office after Carell's departure, multiple ditzy blondes on Three's Company, the list goes on).
There's only two sitcoms that have replaced characters well: Cheers and MASH. Dumb young guy Woody replacing dumb old guy Coach, neurotic mess Rebecca replacing buttoned-up Diane, highly competent ***hole Winchester replacing highly incompetent fool Frank Burns, etc.
The group dynamic won't be the same once they're gone. This is kinda that "Before" and "After" moment here.
Or on Parks and Rec when they got rid of that total *****e Mark and brought in two totally better and funnier characters. Yea

Eh, I think the show could've gone relatively smoothly with Chris exiting. Ann's going to be the real hurdle. What on earth is Leslie going to do without Ann?

Didn't that happen in season three?![]()
oh that's not true. For example A Different World was created to center around Lisa Bonet but she only lasted one season and it got much better once it brought in new characters for a revamp. The replacement of Valerie Harper with Sandy Duncan on Valerie's Family/ The Hogan Family is another example of a successful one. The Night Court replacements were also good as was the handling of Steve with Jefferson on Married with ChildrenI just hope they don't try to shoe-horn in almost identical new characters like alot of shows (mostly comedies) have done poorly in the past (Eric/Kelso hybrid on That 70s Show after Grace and Kutcher left, turning Andy into Michael 2.0 on The Office after Carell's departure, multiple ditzy blondes on Three's Company, the list goes on).

This was the best thing Lowe has done since West Wing, let alone since... St. Elmo's Fire.
