Cena going into business for himself wit that post-match promo sounded very out of character, the second report saying it was a management call as a sort of test/power play with Brock is feasible, it was always going to be uneasy relationship.
I've been wondering about something for a while,What were&has been your status as a fan for a wrestler?Over time a ton of things can change for a fan cause you get bored of a character or perhaps knowing something personal about your favorite guys make you wonder IF you still care or not!,Some of my examples are..
I was never a big Hogan or Warrior fan, I always liked the in-ring aspect even as a kid. Bret Hart was my first big favourite and The Rockers were my favourite tag team, I was also a big fan of Mr Perfect and Rick Rude.
Over the years I've become an even bigger HBK fan and he's my favourite of all time, although I was mad at him when he first turned heel as my 11 year old self was not happy with him splitting up The Rockers lol.
Randy Savage was someone I was a fan of and then he had the massive Jake and Flair feuds and he became one of my favourites, I missed his early WCW work but I thought he was the lifeblood of the NWO, his feud with DDP produced the only top quality matches in the entire WCW vs NWO feud, then his wild split where he was at war with everyone was fantastic in 98. Sadly he broke his leg and was never the same again.
My main WCW guy was always Sting, from the surfer to the crow, he was WCW in my view and was never truly booked as well as he could have been.
Over the years Bret's bitterness and inability to separate the kayfabe aspect of wrestling from business has soured me on him, but the Bret of the early to mid 90's will always be a favourite.
After Shawn and Bret left I liked Austin but was never a huge fan of his matches, I enjoyed heel Rock and DX leader Triple H but my Attitude Era guy was always Foley. and I still can't help but like the guy despite the numerous "one last match" he keeps having, he at least always does whats good for the business.
I was a fan of Goldberg in his initial monster run before the curtain was pulled back, and I was a fan of DDP and a huge fan of Benoit, his style, his feuds with Sullivan and the Dungeon as well as the one with Raven and his TV title series with Booker T were the best ring product WCW had IMO and I was a fan right up to the tragic and horrific end.
I was a big fan of Triple H when he became The Game, felt he got stale around mid-2004, had a good feud with Cena in 2006 and then got the second quad tear, since then he's really held down a lot of guys and hasn't been good enough to justify it.
Have to admit I was a bit of a mark for RVD for a few years as well.
I wasn't a big Flair fan as a kid but when I got into my teens I began to appreciate him and revisited his older stuff, which made me a huge fan up until his embarrassing TNA run.
Always enjoyed Kurt and Brock as performers, Angle was one of my favourites in the early 2000's and Brock was just so awesome in his brief run. Kurt in TNA has been a mixed bag due to his unhealthy look and the booking that pin balls him between face and heel way too often.
I was never a big fan of Taker or Booker but I did enjoy the Biker Taker and King Booker runs a lot, and Jeff Hardy turned me into a fan in his second WWE run, sadly he blew it and I've got little time for him now.
Cena and Edge made me a fan of theirs in 2006, not to the level of others I mentioned but in that 2 year period they were great, Cena has been patchy since 2008 and Edge's last couple of years were average, but both remain likable performers.
I was a big fan of Samoa Joe in ROH and early on in TNA, but they have booked him into mediocrity.
Punk has really been a favourite in the making as I knew HBK's time was coming to an end, he was someone I followed from ROH to WWE and he was the guy that kept me watching after HBK retired, and is my current favourite wrestler.
Guys like Bryan, Ziggler, Cody and Bobby Roode are the other current stars that are becoming bigger favourites of mine as they develop, Roode was a guy I'd been touting since his Roode Inc days, it's a shame it took TNA so long and that he may never see the big dance.
Bryan really has grown massively in confidence on his promos.
Looks like Morrison could be the next wwe superstar to transition to vivid entertainment.
