Backstage Reaction to TNA's Sacrifice PPV, Roode and the TNA World Title

Posted by Marc Middleton on 05/14/2012

- The feeling backstage after last night's TNA Sacrifice pay-per-view was that it was one of TNA's best pay-per-view events in a long time. It was also noted that neither Dixie Carter or Eric Bischoff was there. Dixie tweeted after the event:

"Great night! I am very proud of #TNASacrifice. Proud of the men and women that are TNA."

- The belief is that Rob Van Dam wasn't seriously injured in the Ladder Match against Bobby Roode but both men were hurting when the match was over.

- If Bobby Roode makes it through this set of TNA Impact Wrestling tapings, he will be the longest reigning champion in TNA history. AJ Styles currently holds the record with 211 days as champion. Sources indicate that Roode is scheduled to hold the title until James Storm returns.

Nobody messes with the chairman!

I heard Bully Ray vs A Double, Angle vs Styles, and Roode vs RVD were good matches.

The first two and Hardy vs Anderson were good, but RVD vs Roode, Kim vs Tessmacher and others were pretty predictable.

WWE Reportedly Considering HHH-Lesnar for No Way Out, Ortiz Still Teasing WWE Career

- A press release was issued recently touting UFC star Tito Ortiz going into the California Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame on May 20th. Talking about Tito's popularity, they claimed that he has sold out more pay-per-views than any UFC fighter in history and has drawn a higher buy-rate than WWE's WrestleMania XIX, calling it the most popular WrestleMania of all-time.

The press release also talks about Tito's future as he gets ready to leave UFC and it teases that he may return to professional wrestling with WWE. We noted weeks back that Tito expressed interest in working for WWE while doing UFC media interviews.

- WWE sources indicated this weekend that officials are "in a panic" over the Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H storyline and may move the match to June's No Way Out pay-per-view. The feeling among others is that they need to save the match for SummerSlam and having it in June will be a huge mistake.

They could bring Rock back for SummerSlam if they do HHH/Lesnar for No Way Out.

That's if Rock is not only available but willing to do something for the summer, guys been going non stop since the build to Mania and straight to another movie the day after his last Raw. Seeing as he can set his own schedule he might just want a little break before his next movie.

He shoots Fast and Furious 6 next month.

I guess that's pushing it, but....he has only what? Nine months left on his contract? I thought he'd be in all the big PPVs.

I think Triple H vs Brock should happen at SS But I sure hope Brock does something on WWE TV before that!

In a panic for what?

Probably cause they know so many think the Brock story arc has been turned to **** after the ER ending and now some think(casuals)Brock is a total p**y for"quitting"WWE cause of his demands being turned down!

I am hoping the Revolution stuff is for Dean Ambrose, but I doubt it.

They should not be wasting HHH vs Lesnar on No Wsy Out when they want Summerslam to be a much bigger PPV. besides if HHH's arm is "broken" that gives more time for him to fully "heal" unless HHH now has Zack Ryders healing factor :whatever:

WWE.com has an article up about the "Revolution" video. All the related videos are Mick Foley stuff.......:)

The real truth behind this new "Revolution"

Shane Douglas is back!

As for WWE and Tito Ortiz, I think if he was to sign with the WWE, he would not have to change his name as I would think the WWE would want to capitalize on his MMA fame.

I've been wanting Tito Ortiz since back when he first started losing regularly in UFC. what took him so long? How old is he?

Wonder what happened to those rumors about signing Cyborg. Wonder if the wwe dropped interest in her since her getting caught with Performance Enhancing Drugs.

Tito is 38.

And I think that's the reason the WWE dropped Cyborg. I think Cyborg comes back and will probably face of against Ronda Rousey.

His match with Bret at Halloween Havoc 98 was his last match before his return in April of 99. I believe Sting took time off to deal with some knee and elbow injuries.

Thinking back it's a shame Bret vs Sting didn't happen a few years earlier, it was one of the biggest dream matches but by that point it just wasn't the same.

The GAB match is good one too, especially for the significance of Sting winning his first world title. It'll never happen, but I would love to hear Jim Ross call one last Sting match.

The stars would have to allign perfectly, Mania, Taker as the opponent, and realistically within the next two years, but ya never know.

I need to see this match.

Which match was this?

Recently? I know she dated Test years ago.

Remember Orton basically called her the locker room bike in that radio interview last year.

For my boy Hunter and anyone else...

Here's the Sting/Flair match I was talking about. Probably my favorite match between the two.

Here's the promo Sting cut earlier in the night to open Nitro. First promo back and first use of "It's Showtime" catchphrase. Pure Stinger energy!

Here's the promo later in the night with Flair, Randy Savage, and Sting. It sets up the Sting/Flair match later in the show and establishes the Gorgeous George/Little Naitch feud.

Thanks Man. I'm gonna settle down and watch that later. I wonder if Sting came out with showtime on the fly and it stuck? Because even as an 80's bred guy he never had a catchphrase.

Can't imagine why they are panicking.
